Guess you must have missed where he posted "about the size of a car".

Appears to be a road coming down the mountain there - a car seems to fit the bill (see terrain from Google maps - points also seem to line up) - a car full of aliens mind....

I am not discussing the great daylight fireball of 1972. I am of the belief that part of your "sighting" involved a bright fireball that was seen at night. The illumnation of the trees and description sound like a -8 to -12 fireball. Since you don't have a date/time, we are left grasping at straws. Finding records of fireballs seen in that area in 1975 (at least that is what I thought you said) is going to be unlikely because of the lack of observers who will report such events.

• Don't do figure eights
• Don't suddenly stop or start
• Don't softly land
• Don't take off from the ground

I agree with ufology, fireflies are the more likely explanation, although we can never know for sure, due to his memory and perception problems.

Cars were easily distinguishable from this object. The object clearly flew.

I suspect that UFOs are just classified military experimental aircraft, but just a thought. If these "aliens" had the technology and smarts to travel light years to find earth, would they really want to avoid people?

As you can see,
there is no way the object could be a firefly.

I'm not sure how the diagram proves that. It could have been both smaller and closer. Granted, you believe you saw it come from behind a mountain and go behind some trees - but your memory isn't better than most and unfortunately there's nothing you can say to change that. Details (like the light streaming through the trees) can be added over time to support the initial conclusion, not deliberately but just as a subconscious result of playing it back in our heads.

That is if you are accurate in your observations. You can't even prove that the series of sightings were of the same object. Again, these are your recollections of an event that you can't even produce a date for. Just because you say it "landed" does not mean it actually did. All you did was see something disappear behind the horizon/trees giving the impression to you that it landed. Other details can be added or removed over time. This is a common trait of story telling when the teller wants to paint a certain picture.

I used the term in context of the illustration copared to what I saw. If you want more than that, then we've already been through the proof issue. I've already stated that I don't have scientific proof.

Some UFO reports have definitely been attributed to secret USAF aircraft. For example we know the SR-71 was responsible for some, as were the Skyhook balloons.

As has been alluded to however, the radical maneuvering of some UFOs precludes any known aircraft then or now. A whole new propulsion sytem needs to be developed. So long as we're using some sort of internal combustion or even nuclear rocket technology, we're not going to be able to pull off instant stops, instant accelleration to hypersonic speeds and instant sharp angled high G-force turns.

What is not plausible about alien craft? It is certainly more plausible than suggesting meteors come up from the ground, hover and then fly off.

No reliable, verifiable evidence for the above has ever been put forward. As far as I'm concerned it's ufologist's make believe. Anecdotes, on which the above claim is based, are unreliable as proof of extraordinary claims.
