Is the radical right dumbing down the GOP?

Want to make a forum wager on it? I'll take Bachman, you take Romney and if a 3rd candidate wins the nom it's a draw. How about it?

Since the prospect of a Bachman Presidency means the imminent fall of the USA into a dystopian hellhole........I'd rather just try to arrange a way out of the country.

Travis, I think Mitt will get the nod but he somehow needs to bolster his cred with the loony right. Bachmann as VP perfectly fills the bill. If she's VP, will you half leave the country? Maybe live on the Canadian border? :)

Bachmann is tied for the lead in Iowa, not nationally. Iowa's not a good bellwether; Mike Huckabee won there in 2008.
Neither is New Hampshire, which is number two down the chute. Number three is in the deep south. Gawd, what a screwed up system.

No. It looks more like Scotland might be my future home. Note this might happen regardless of who is President.

So glib it is. I'm shocked.
I know, it's always cute when a poster decides to have a serious discussion about politics, then opens up with a hyperbolic flamethrower.

So we've established that Ryan's plan does not "kill Medicare"?

If you don't like his proposed reforms criticize those, without the 2-bit partisan hack language. So far the Dem plan to save Medicare seems to be sticking their heads in the sand and saying "What problem? Oh look over there, Ryan is trying to kill Medicare!1!11!!1!!!!!!"

Sure, here is one of many.
Of course, you can fnd an unlimited number of partisan opinion pieces making the claim.

What you won't find are facts to back it up. Do you have a political BS filter at all, or do you just parrot what you want to hear?

The non-partisan PolitiFact.com lists the "kill Medicare" claim as false btw.

But hey, just becase Medicare is going broke fast doesn't mean we should take any steps to save it so long as there's partisan political games to play! I mean, what's more important, saving health coverage for the elderly or scoring political points for the next election?

And this statement by WI state Rep. Sandy Pasch (D, Whitefish Bay) earned the coveted "Pants on Fire" award!

I think that Paul Ryan is the face of the radical plan to dismantle Medicare and Medicaid. People across Wisconsin depend on and like Medicare. If you stand with Paul Ryan, you stand with the promise to end healthcare for our seniors. It's not just a policy issue, it's a values issue.

This is my grandfather's hammer. My father replaced the head, I replaced the handle.

So we've established that it's still the same hammer?

You've established that you are no good at analogies.

Hint: Medicare is not a physical object.

The contention seems to be that any change to Medicare is "killing Medicare", yes? Even though the program will live on and continue in its mission to provide health care to seniors?
