We need some Democrats with the backbone to stand and fight. If Pelosi weren't so foolish as to take impeachment of the table when she had a chance to make the Repiublicons lok like a bunch of war profiteers and barbarians we wouldn't have Ryan and Cantor and Agent Orange trying to pass themselves off as leaders of some sort today.

The sludge monster wants to castrate the Democratic arty. Letting that snivelling little non-man win is not going to make America any better. Weiner should stand and fight and show the rest of the party how it is done, unless, of course, he can get two sleaze-bag Republicons to leave with him, like maybe Diapers boy and that hysterical little twit Cantor.
Gee, leftysergeant, I think Anthorny Weiner did stand up, didn't he? At least that's what Anthorny Weiner wanted his photos to show, right? And that video where Anthorny Weiner's screaming about Republicans blocking that ludicrous Health Care garbage... I'd call Anthorny Weiner fighting mad then, as in fighting.

You see, Anthorny Weiner's problem is that he DID stand up and he did fight. And everything about Anthorny Weiner is fake, indecent, despicable, immoral, and uber-crass. Anthorny Weiner is simply the wrong man for the wrong job. Get over him... he's not following YOU on twitter. He does not love you nearly as much as you love him.

"Weiner's pulling out -- for a little while, at least.Serial-sexting Congressman Anthony Weiner headed off to rehab and will seek a leave of absence, as Nancy Pelosi and other Dems demanded he quit following his admission to sending private Twitter messages to a 17-year-old girl.
Weiner's office said the randy rep left this morning for "professional treatment," and will take a leave of absence from the House as he tries to become a better family man."

The "rehab" is a smoke screen so he can try to save face. Expect within the next week or so an announcement that his doctor recommends he resign from Congress in order for his therapy to have a chance at success. He doesn't want to, but he has to follow doctors orders and do what is best for his family.

Hadn't thought of that. Interesting prediction. Wonder if he might play it the other way--declaring after x weeks that he's "cured" and he's ready to come back and work "hard" for his district.

Yes! Because clearly a Tweet addict needs to recuperate from the over-the-top public drubbing he has been forced to endure, :) ...despite the fact that no-one has demonstrated that he actually committed a crime.

I had exactly the opposite idea. The purpose of the rehab is to provide an excuse to mitigate his responsibility for his actions. i.e. I know I did bad, but I was sick and now I'm better. Assuming I'm right, it is a pretty good strategy. The advocates for resignation will now need to deal with a man dealing with a sickness. Is it really fair to force a man to resign when his sickness made him do it? And now he's gone to professionals and they've fixed him. Is it really fair to force a man to resign when doctors have cured him?

My guess, is this guy rides out the end of his term. Reelection will be interesting. He won't get support from national Democrats but he may not need it.

"Rehab"?!?

Is it me or is America getting dumber by the day? I'm gonna go to the nearest college, pick up some unsuspecting hottie and bed her for a few months. Then I'm going to tweet my dingaling to her and have it come out so I can see what my wife thinks of my going to rehab.

unrea.

All part of the Weiner game that began with the lie that he hired a law firm and security company to get to the bottom of his hacked account. Rehab is just the new game he thinks will give him an out or get him back in.

You know Einstein couldn't keep it in his pants either. If that isn't a good reason to totally not believe in the Theory of Relativity then I don't know what is.

Personal character flaws don't mean your ideas are wrong, and I don't think anyone here is claiming that. But they are a good reason not to trust someone with power. And that is, indeed, something that Einstein never really had, nor is there any reason to think he would have been well-suited to wield it.

I believe they could both do with a serious P.R. makeover...
No matter what he did, being called an "Einstein" is rarely a good thing these days...
"You posted a bunch of naked pictures of yourself to your Twitter account? Way to go, 'Einstein'!"
And I don't think there's ever been a good way to be called a "Wiener", has there?

That any of this is evidence of a personal character "flaw" is entirely subjective.

Someone caught him sending a picture of his junk on the internet. Weiner then said that someone hacked his account. That statement is a lie.

I know you don't think breaking marriage vows is a character flaw. Is lying/placing blame on others okay too?
