See? Weiner's computer expert lawyer finally got to the bottom of this scandal, and Weiner triumphantly held a press conference to reveal the results.

And some of you thought Weiner's investigation was going to be a sham!

It's rather pathetic that this story is shafting the real issues.

It's also rather pathetic Weiner knew such a story would shaft (no pun intended) real issues and yet he engaged in the actions anyway. If you can't refrain from behavior that will become a big embarrassment if it becomes public then just don't run for office in the first place.

Do we get to see the pictures she sent him? Pretty please.

I mean, if the women get to see those rocking pecs, surely we should get to see whatever assets she was sending right?

Here's one that looks like it was cropped to be safe for work.

What are you blabbering about?
Your posting habits here.
A Republican Congressman's recent resignation over a similar 'oops' is public knowledge.
...and?

You seem lost. Let me help. Here is the nonsense from you that most here, I'm willing to bet, would agree is just that:

our large contingent of lefty loons would be frothing at the mouth demanding he resign

I ask again, ready to take boooeee up on his request?

And you and "several" are welcome to continue believing Democrats are beyond blame for any behavior: public, pubic, or private, presumably since they won't be acting "hypocritically".

Now how can I continue believing something I don't already believe?

Oh, yeah, you're trying a pathetic strawman to wiggle out of this. More documented nonsense, consistent with your history here.

ROFL (think Laughing Dog smiley, actually).
Considering your horrible failure at logic above, I'm not surprised.

It's tacky, but so what?

Nothing in the whole incident indicates that he is not fighting for the principles he claims, nor does what he did conflict with anything of which I know on which he has stated a position.

Libertarians, especially, should have no problem with what he did. As for lying, it would probably have been better had he just told everyone to sod off, but that, to me, is beside the point because he did not lie to anyone to whom he tweeted.

Screw the sludge monster and the Republicons who want him to resign. When they get rid of Vitter, they will stand on some ground higher than the sewer outfall.

That is it exactly. When you become a public figure the public judges you by whatever criteria they want. When someone says "It's his private sex life so he shouldn't be judged for it" what they really should be saying is "I don't judge people for his private sex life and I don't understand why others do, but they do and therefore his private sex life can have public consequences."
Well, one might "judge" him by thinking he's an a__hat, and yet not "judge" him that way by voting against him or thinking he should automatically step down, be removed, etc. Most people, I think, who say "who cares?," are referring to the latter.

Guys. His name...it's Weiner. WEINER! I mean, come on. Someone needs to make some jokes about this, ASAP.

If you're quoting this to tell me that jokes have been made already, then you're an idiot who doesn't understand sarcasm.

Let me ask the anti-Weiner coalition one more time what they think this e-mail means:

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/file/weinergate

That is from Dan Wolfe, the fellow that was harassing the recipient of the tweet for some weeks leading up to the incident, who mentioned a coming scandal for Weiner multiple times, who was the only person that captured the tweet before it was taken down, and who told Breitbart that "We have more."

Now please, someone explain what he's talking about when he says, "if this comes out." Additionally, explain why Breitbart would publish that email detailing Mr. Wolfe's personal problems. Looks like he's trying to cover his ass to me, maybe you guys can up with some fresh new opinions on that. I know you won't be directly thinking about penis, so less fun, obviously, but this would seem to be fairly important if you want to continue calling this a scandal.

So .... what does this email mean ? What game was Breitbart playing with Wolfe ? That question still seems to be unanswered.

Next up: Ethics Committee Investigation, as already called for by some Democrats:

And the return volley from Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Steve Israel, who issued a sharp statement attempting to inoculate himself from the scandal:

“Congressman Anthony Weiner engaged in a deep personal failure and inappropriate behavior that embarrassed himself, his family, and the House. Ultimately, Anthony and his constituents will make a judgment about his future .

“To remove all remaining doubt about this situation, I agree with Leader Pelosi’s request that the House Ethics Committee use its authority to begin an investigation.”

It'll be amusing to listen to the morning talk radio host (who despises Pelosi and everything she does) jump through hoops to simultaneously decry Pelosi and Weiner tomorrow. I'm predicting something like "She should have done this a week ago."

Just woke up to the news.

Here's one that looks like it was cropped to be safe for work.

Ah, so that's why he decided to throw in the towel:

The announcement came as ABC News prepared to release an interview with Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old single mother from Texas who provided dozens of photos, emails, Facebook messages and cell phone call logs that she says chronicle a sexually-charged electronic relationship with Weiner that rapidly-evolved for more than a month, starting on April 20, 2011.

ABC News reached out to Weiner earlier today for comment about his possible ties to Broussard, but he did not respond to requests for an interview. At a press conference later, Weiner confirmed Broussard was one of the women with whom he sexted. Broussard's story had threatened to expose the
