Merged Osama bin Laden dead,

Obama will be the first black man in America that has to prove that he killed a person. -----Seth Meyers.

not far from the views of the average american fundamental christian conservative.

What an amazingly ignorant comment.

Many fundamentalist Christians view homosexuality and atheism as sinful. I know of pretty much none who want homosexuals or atheists to be killed. This, apparently, is a minor difference to you.

Quite pathetic, really. You're welcome to your dhimmitude.

american christians are being instrumental in pushing uganda's death penalty laws against queers.

I like the rumor al-Zawahari tipped off the US in order to get rid of OBL and take over the lead position. Do you suppose if we push that story al-Zawahari will be assassinated by an OBL fan?

That one will probably be a big hit among those who already think that LBJ had JFK whacked.

I guess you missed the news that Ugandan Evangelical government officials want to make the death penalty the punishment for homosexuality then.

Evidence? Because what I can find suggests the opposite.
So because some in the Christian community are not as sick as these people, that's evidence the claim is false?

Upon re-reading, I see your gripe is probably with the word, "average". Islamic terrorists are no more average than Christian fundies who think the death penalty for gay sex should be death. Perhaps both sides of this thread sidetrack should clarify their positions.

Right. In addition, the point bikerdruid made pertains to American Christians (those are his words), so the Ugandan government doesn't matter a whole lot.

To say that an extremist Muslim views atheists and homosexuals in the same way as the average American Christian is absurd.

(Apologies if I'm misrepresenting Ziggurat's stance on this one)

The only statements I can find from any American christians regarding the Ugandan death penalty law for homosexuals has been opposition to it. That does indeed suggest that most American Christians, even fundamentalists, do not support the law in question. Bikerdruid, on the other hand, has made a rather serious (and, I would suggest, extraordinary) accusation which he has not supported.

Indeed it is. That, plus (as Scum pointed out) "American". The opinions of a few nutjobs are of no importance.

Perhaps. But the conversation was specifically about one of those terrorists. Furthermore, while actual terrorists may be a small minority of muslims, support for the death penalty for homosexuals within the Islamic world is NOT a small minority, and such laws have been frequently implemented as well. Terrorism aside, Islam and Christianity really aren't the same in regards to treatment of homosexuals. Not even among fundamentalists of each religion. One would need to wear blinders to not recognize that.

Bikerdruid is wearing blinders.

really? heck, i found a lot....

Over the last few years, homophobia has soared hroughout Africa but especially in Uganda, where a controversial 2009 Anti-Homosexuality Bill proposed the death penalty for some homosexuals. The evidence suggests that American evangelicals were involved in the drafting of the bill. In March 2009, an American evangelist named Scott Lively led an anti-gay conference in Kampala. A few days later, David Bahati, a lawmaker and a close friend of Lively, introduced the bill in Parliament.

Human rights advocates in Uganda say the visit by the three Americans helped set in motion what could be a very dangerous cycle. Gay Ugandans already describe a world of beatings, blackmail, death threats like “Die Sodomite!” scrawled on their homes, constant harassment and even so-called correctional rape.
