In fact, the next sentence I included in my excerpt there but omitted here offers an explanation for something that -supposedly- still "confuses" Dogzilla who also appears to have "forgotten" some of the contents of that "discussion" an its references again.

Is there an indication that lurkers for a thread like this hold substantially different opinions from those posting? Would it be fair to assume that the demographic make-up of a group of posters with an interest in a topic like this is substantially different from the group of lurkers on the same topic?

It seems to me that at best Holocaust deniers can be expected to appeal to the same sort of percentage among lurkers as finds their antics convincing among the active participants in a thread like this. Is that unreasonable? In other words, what is the highest number of people a Holocaust denier could hope to reach out to and persuade with their antics if the ratio "poster to lurker" for a thread like this conforms to studies of forum lurkers?

It is pretty typical. They have to do things like this--strawman, use partial and out of context quotations, claim forgery without evidence, promote double standards of evidence, etc--to promote blatant BS and play their peculiar game of bingo.

That they cannot come up with a coherent explanation of their own favored "transit" thesis is actually pretty funny. What's funnier is that they don't believe they need to in order to convince anyone.

Probability suggests that that is not an unreasonable supposition. If, for example 2% of the protaganists on this thread are holocaust deniers, I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume a similar proportion exists in the lurker population.

Better informed among participants? Yes. I learned a lot from some of those whose knowledge of the matter extends beyond mine. Among lurkers, who can really say?
All I can say for sure is that some PhD's of my acquaintance are terminally stupid, while some others without such education are rather clever.

And the converse is also true. Some PhD's of my acquaintance are awesomely clever, and some friends are uneducated for a reason.

We can still go for a beer and help each other out when needed.

I am afraid that the form by which they pursue the latter of these two options is their imagined stance against Power, posing in full narcissism as battlers, armed with bravery and keen perception, for truth and justice, taking it to the Man and scoring rhetorical point after rhetorical point, they think, in the heroic fight. And the form by which they stick it to the establishment--as Nazi wannabes and by means of Jew-baiting and mendacity--substantially betrays their core values. you're forgetting "Jews" were considered anyone who posessed Jewish ancestry, so even 2nd and 3rd generation Christians who did not even know they had Jewish roots were considered Jews. That's how I think the numbers got so inflated and what "Holohoaxers" typically forget.

Oh, and BTW -- if only that many were killed why did the camp need the cremation capacity it had? Typhus? As your handlers how many of the victims in these books died of typhus vs. other causes? in the period of 1943 - 1945, those numbers were 2060 out of 68,864 deaths. Given the sheer number of Jews whose deportation to Auschwitz were witnessed by the general populations of Europe, and given that the number of Jews registered at the camp is reported above as being far less, then what happened to all those Jews at train stations all over Europe who, the Nazis said, were being sent to Auschwitz and never were registered there?
