Saying Obama is ruining that soldier's life is like saying is like blaming the passenger on a subway for ruining the life of the guy who jumps right in front of the train. They're both complete and utter idiots and deserve every bit of suffering they bring on themselves.

Purely? I doubt it. Its more along the lines of the old Napoleon quote about "never interrupt your opponent when he is making a mistake" combined with the lesson about trying to teach a pig English.

Former LTC Lakin brought his fate upon himself. HE made the decision to violate his orders to deploy based upon a spurious claim that his orders came from the President, and since Lakin thought the President wasn't a citizen that entitled him to disobey.
News flash; deployment orders DO NOT COME from the President. His orders came from his duly appointed superior officer and the Department of Defense, NOT the President. Lakin ruined his own career and was rightfully punished for it; the President had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Do you SERIOUSLY think the President gives every single order in the Armed Forces? Do you think every time I give an order to one of my soldiers I have to submit it to the President in order to have his approval of it? Because that would be news to me and every other officer in my entire unit, plus our higher headquarters. The President has nothing to do with the day-to-day running of the Armed Forces, WHICH INCLUDES determining which soldiers will be deployed and where.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for Lakin; he screwed himself over. His acting like an utter idiot does not, however, equate to the President had anything to do with his rightful and just punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. And claiming that it does is extremely disingenous and could be called an outright LIE, BaC.

He can obtain it. It's absurd for you to continue to claim otherwise.

He can obtain a non-certified copy by filing a FOIA request (that's a trifle unusual route to go to get it, isn't it?) And if he released that there would still be cries of "it's not the real thing, why won't he release his real birth certificate!"

That's why all the Hawaii state officials, Democrat and Republican alike, say that no one can. That's why the DHHL website says the state doesn't issue them any more. That's why the request form for certificate copies has no option for "long-form" on it and hasn't since at least 2004. That's why the legions of Hawaiian-born tea party birthers haven't been able to get copies. That's why Miki Booth can't get copies for her husband and son.

If the rules of the Department of Health allowed him to that would be true. They don't. And the law does not compel the DH to do so. Read about the law, ffs.

Here's the pertinent law:
The law also allows the Department of Health to determine which means to do so. So like "may be made" allow the DH to determine how to make the copy, such as using computer printouts like the CoLB.

The state of Hawaii can't stand behind any document any more than it stands behind what Obama has receieved and published.
There isn't a higher level of "certification" that is avaialble if you keep asking for it. Nor does pretending (for that is what you are doing) that the state's certification doesn't mean what it means even though the state continually says that it means "certified" doesn't make it any less certified that it is certified.

Uh huh.....so a month ago, you could get a long-form certified copy and now they say they don't do that.
You really believe the president of the United States calls up the governor and says, look, I want to put this to rest. Give me a certified copy of my original birth certificate, that the State will not comply?
Keep in mind the law says the State must comply.
This argument he cannot obtain it is lunacy. No normal, reasonable person would believe that. Furthermore, it was just last week ANT said you couldn't even get a copy. Now, well you cannot get it certified. That's total bs on the part of Obama defenders. He can request it and receive it. Be there in the morning if he wants.
The governor already stated the same; that if Obama asked for it, they would comply.
That document just says someone registered his birth in Hawaii. It does not say he was born in a hospital as claimed. Now, if he had just said he was born at home or something, it would likely stand but he or his campaign perhaps made a mistake claiming he was born in a hospital.
If that's the case, the original will show whether that is true, and considering other evidence, if he wasn't, maybe he really wasn't born in the US and so ineligible to be president.

You want the President to get special treatment for access to private records?
It says the State must provide a certified copy, the way it currently does meets the laws requirements. Read the law.
