Moderated Obama birth certificate CT / SSN CT / Birther discussion

Don't forget, when citing WND, one must always remember that they admit to making stories up.

Also, I was fairly amused to learn that Sam Slom is the single Republican in the Hawaii state senate. Talk about being in opposition.

Boyntonstu: care to answer my question? The Maui Tea Party hates Obama and everything he stands for. Why don't they produce birth certificates that match what Birthers claim is readily available for the President? After all, would it not be damning if thousands (ha!) of patriotic folks with three corner hats walked up to the CNN offices with long form birth certificates that they ordered this week? Imagine the drama! The impact!

Why haven't they done so?

Why indeed?

Reread the thread, since that question has already been addressed.

It has? I haven't seen a single answer to why anything on the birth certificate would be "damning". We know who the father is and where he comes from. We know who the mother is. We know what their politics were and what their lives were like. What would be shocking about "religion" being Muslim (if that were even true)? President Obama grew up with his Mother, not his father. And she wasn't Muslim. So who cares what they put on the birth certificate 50 years ago? Would this have an effect? If so, what?

And if that's not it, what is the strongest possible embarrassing item that could be on a 50 year old document from the 1960s that would be that would be relevant in 2012?

BaC, one simple straight forward question.

If the document that has been put forward by Obama has been certified by the state of Hawaii as 100% accurate and truthful is not believed to be true, why would any other document from the same agency regardless of its content be believed?

This is a pointless endeavor.

There is a simple rule of thumb you can use to ascertain the reliability of any piece of evidence in regards to someone's conspiracy theory and that is "If it supports my conspiracy theory it is accurate, if it doesn't it isn't"!

There was nothing like this for ANY President in living memory... all of which just happen to be white.

Depending on how grounded in reality a Birther still is, they expect Obama to be replaced either by Biden or by McCain... both of which are white.

It´s a process of elimination. There is no evidence that Obama is ineligible... so evidence cannot be the driving force. There is no reasonable (or unreasonable) doubt about the evidence that he is eligible... so reasonable (or unreasonable) doubt cannot be the driving force. Having him declared ineligible would swap a black President with a white President... therefore racism is a possible driving force.

Note that I wrote "there is no doubt"; what there is, coming from the Birthers, is blind, mindless denial. It´s important to keep the difference in mind.

Sadly I wouldn't be surprised if the entire birther issue at least started with that. I'd a attribute at least a decent chunk of the remaining reasons to gullibility in the same way conspiracies traditionally recruit supporters. What makes this such a blithering waste of time as a conspiracy is the fact that Obama wouldn't have gotten the nomination if he wasn't a citizen. There's no legitimate reason for this birth certificate crap to continue, and the birther movement knows this.

One more time: he hasn't spent millions, and he's not the one who can determine whether it's released or not.

And Slom is still an idiot.

However, it WOULD be worth millions not to show it if it keeps this controversy running right up to election day. Worth TENS of millions if a birther candidate is nominated by the Repubs. Worth HUNDREDS of millions if he actively campaigns on this issue.

Because Obama could be found with a dead girl or a live boy and still be re-elected if birtherism is the narrative of the GOP.

Gary Tuchman travelled to Hawaii .. and what he found will be difficult for some people to accept. Tune in Monday, April 25 beginning at 10pm ET.

Spoiler alert ... I saw an interview with the reporter, Gary Tuchman, today on CNN. He said that he found overwhelming evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii and no evidence of a conspiracy to cover-up or hide anything.

But, he admits, his reports probably won't do anything to change the opinions of the hard-core birthers.

Indeed. I keep thinking back to the 1992 election and the way Bush the Elder fussed and tussled with Ross Perot to the point where Clinton got elected mostly because people were fed up with such nonsense. Especially when Bush was doing it all in the light of a quickly souring economy.

Funny how you get to dismiss World Net Daily, but when I tried to show one your side's sources ... the Washington Post ... is unreliable in it's reporting, that thread was moved to the Conspiracy Section.

Funny that. :D

That would be because your criteria for "being reliable" was to buy into your nonsense conspiracies. Now how about answering some of the questions posed to you in this thread instead of whining about other threads and the way we treat your creationist i-rag.
