Continuation Part 2 - Discussion of the Amanda Knox case

Now they are "children"? This appeal to emotion only further exposes how weak their appeal really is.

This isn't an appeal to emotion. I still call my twenty-year-olds children just as I call their mother 'mom'. I still call my young adults children. Sometimes I call one of my children 'my son' or 'my daughter'.

I think, as does Mark Waterbury, that the case for innocence is as strong as any case for innocence ever has been. However, the 'jury' chooses to sleep during the defense's presentation, what can you do? Were I on a jury listening to the defense of the accused Mignini, I would want to sleep too. [But, I would feel obligated to listen]

The real mystery is why people are so egar to sacrifice Amanda.

CoulsdonUK,

I have read his blog. If his book is of like quality, then disgusting is a fair evaluation. MOO.

I don't wish to rush to a quick judgment that could be in error here Chris. I have not read the book yet but I did read what was available and I did a quick "look inside" for about 10 keywords. I like the way he has the book organized by each day of the trial and then a further discussion of the evidence. My reading of those keyword quotes shows that he may be cherry picking some guilt-favorable quotes, but he is more into detail and sourcing than books like Nadeau's that I have read. I was having a discussion with Machiavelli about getting a good feel for an argument favoring guilt and this book may be the ticket for me. I don't really care where his degree came from or even if he has one, the content and style is what I will judge it by. I think this is one that I will probably read in full.

strawman! Attacking the word children and ignoring the rest of the statement doesn't diminish what the previous poster said.
The appeal can't be to weak considering no dna was discovered on the knife. The appeal can't be to weak if after a year of listening to guilters deny curatolo ever said anything about people in masks, he changes his testimony and even specifies which buses he saw.

Her brother is a convicted murderer now on appeal.

... and your point is ... ? It is entirely right that Vanessa Sollecito should focus entirely on getting the truth of the case established, and Raffaele belatedly freed. It is completely absurd that CoulsdonUK or other commentators on this case should expect her to comment on the Kerchers' separate tragedy (for which the Perugia police bear a heavy responsibility).

Prestige usually depends on perspective here

The wikipedia page.

They are accredited, but if you scroll down to the controversies section it's pretty clear that this ain't exactly a prestigious centre of excellence in teaching and research. ;)

Yeah, Uh Huh......

But then again how 'prestigious' are some other sources who are widely exalted and repeatedly reverently quoted on a wide variety of non pertinent technical forensic subjects here who only have:

-A Library Card
-Ability to type words into Google search box
-Expertise in being a blogger
-Expertise in making plants grow vertically
-Expertise in testing biodiesel fuels

but are 'prestigious' only because they just happen to tow in lockstep the FOAKer Groupie 'Company Line'

Excellent advice; me too

The organization by trial day also appeals to me as a good source of quick future fact checking.

Additionally, he has received two excellent 5 star reviews from people I do not recognized as previously biased, nor 'read: agenda', into what they say about the book on Amazon

Hmmm. Both reviewers posted 5 star reviews of Will Savive's previous book on the same day in 2009. Neither had posted anything since 2009, only to re-emerge within a day of each other (March 15/16) to post 5 star reviews of Will Savive's new book. Both have a penchant for multiple exclamation points. Call me a cynic...

Find me a recent book sold on Amazon that doesn't have this problem.

So this is her focus entirely? What's she like in real life, since you obviously know her and her daily schedule of heartbreak.

Dempsey has a very interesting post up:

http://blog.seattlepi.com/dempsey/2...e-against-amanda-knox-and-raffaele-sollecito/

Say goodbye to the “queen’s evidence”–from discredited DNA to the “ear witness” with mental and hearing problems to a deluded “super-witness” who claimed he saw the former lovers near the crime scene on the cold Italian night that somebody slashed the throat of Knox’s British roommate Meredith Kercher.

LOL. The ear witness is near deaf???

Wow, can I say, just Wow.

Well, yes, fair point! :D

That's why I usually check out the other books posters have reviewed before believing the 5 stars are unbiased. And why I disagree with pilot padron that those reviewers don't have an agenda...

Wacky Candace Dempsey, just making stuff up again with no verifiable facts at all:

In sensational news,

Taken from the Oggi article, which also presents no facts or evidence:

The witnesses, who when they were not drug addicts (like Hekuran Kokomani and Antonio Curatolo), have problems of deafness, of physical as well as mental health serious enough to be hospitalized in the psychiatric department. (That is the case with Nara Capezzali).

When was her last hearing test? When did you see the results?
Maybe while she was in the psychiatric hospital? Too funny, these super-witnesses. What was it that Massei said about Nara?

“if this scream did not happen and Capezzali did not hear it, we do not see the reason why she would have spoken about it” (p. 89 sentenza).

Amanda Knox has severe mental illness that was not revealed because of doctor/patient confidentiality. However, this information was leaked to me by unamed sources. I have now posted this information on my French flower arranging blog, making it of course 100% true.

Wow, this is easy!

...Is the case falling apart?

It's a shaky circumstantial case to begin with (as compared to the solid circumstantial case against the unemployed drifter). The knife is virtually the only piece of "evidence" submitted that can not be readily dismissed by an exculpatory explanation that is equally plausible to any inculpatory interpretation.

"In reality, the two experts rejected the work of the police, saying “on that knife there was never enough to get biological material to get DNA profiles.”"

If it's true the independent experts said this, it's only a matter of time before the fat lady will be heard singing by all except the most obtuse, biased, and/or hearing impaired observers.

Nara

There's a youtube clip where Paul Ciolino investigates Nara. It turns out the police hadn't even interviewed Nara at the time he made the video. Here is one of the 'Superwitnesses' and they hadn't even knocked on her door.

I'm at work and can't, can someone post it. youtube search - Paul Ciolino and Nara Capezzali.

Rose,

Yes, I think the case is falling apart. After all the work many put into this cause, this is rewarding to see.
