I don't know if his mother even had a US passport at the time (I didn't have one until 15, then didn't need one again until I was 35).

According to the Strunk FOIA request for Stanley Ann Dunham's passport applications.

Dr. Conspiracy constructed a time line based on the FOIA documents of Stanley Ann's travels:

1) her first passport was issued in 1965, when she married Lolo Soetoro (presumably to move with him back to Indonesia)

2) on her passport application, Barack Obama II was included as her US Citizen child.

Pursuant to inquiry from Central Office regarding the status of the applicants’ spouses’ child by a former marriage. The person in question is a United States citizen by virtue of his birth in Honolulu, Hawaii, Aug. 4, 1961.

So, it would have been quite difficult for her to go to another country and return in 1961?

What is the Birther spin on that?
 
They'll claim there was an elaborate conspiracy to hide the records.

What's interesting to me is, again, the point that an infant, toddler, small child would have to be included on a parent's passport.

IF he was included on his mothers passport, when allegedly returning to the US after his birth in Kenya, wouldn't she have had to go to a U.S. Counsel's office? WOuldn't his inclusion on her passport leaving Kenya be some sort of tacit admission that regardless of where he was born, the US government considered him a citizen?

Anyway, it is all foolish speculation, because there's no evidence that she went to Kenya. Period.

Well, VISA records would have also been a way to prove that she went or didn't. None exist. She has never stepped foot in Kenya

Also, she would have to taken anywhere between 5-7 vaccinations before traveling while PREGNANT - 2 of the vaccinations are not recommend for pregnant women, all done 4-6 weeks before travel (one of them being the Measles vaccine)

Also, she would have had a higher chance of catching Yellow Fever and Typhoid if she had traveled to Kenya while pregnant.

so yes, it makes no sense that a woman, in a country with more than ADEQUATE health care and accessible hospitals, would travel to a country with a hospital that ran on a generator - 100 miles from Obama Sr's village, subject herself to vaccinations that would ENDANGER her unborn child, and while there, SUBJECT herself to Yellow Fever and Typhoid.

The one birther claim I've heard that confuses me is the timelines that essentially have Stanley Ann rushing to Kenya from the US to have the baby for no understandable reason.

Why would she do that?

I know why she did it.

It must be so that before the 2012 election, when birthers are talking the most about the things they talk about, Obama will be able to discredit them at the last moment and make right-wing people look silly.

because they can't believe that a Black man with a foreign sounding name could ever be born on US soil..
 
In essence that is what this all comes down to. For some reason they don't accept Obama as a "real American" and all this Birther crap is just that angst realized.
 
I have still never worked out, wht the BIG THEY who actually planned in advance to make Obama the POTUS in 2009 messed up so badly way back in 1961 by having his mother fly to Africa for him to be born there.

What were they thinking?

I'd be surprised if this hasn't been posted yet but it answers the question why They would do it.
...and the answer is: Africans just aren't that smart.
