Merged Skeptics vs. Knowers/Believers

You are mischaracterizing my statements.

I only saw the cigar shaped cloud from a single perspective. Posting a picture of a plate from the top down, rather than from the side, and then comparing it to a picture of a cigar is a tad intellectually dishonest.

If it was cigar shaped in your 2008 description, why did you change it to saucer shaped in your 2009 description?

Because there is little or no difference between the shape of those two objects...

"It was a rainy day out."

vs.

"It was a wet day out."

...not a lot of difference there, or between a saucer and a tapered cigar.

So when you said saucer you meant the profile view of the stereotypical 'flying saucer', not a round plate?

Well, no. There is a lot of difference between a cigar and a saucer shape. It would be more like offering someone a saucer to smoke when you have a baby or offering someone a cigar to set their teacup on. Look back at the pictures that PA posted to refresh your memory.

BINGO! Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!

Johnny, tell'em what he's won...

I'm glad that you enjoy the game, but it would be much easier for you to post the earliest online version you can find, and to either transcribe or scan your journal entry and post it here.

Then, rather than wasting time arguing about a story that may only exist in your mind, we could think about what you really saw.

It's already here...

Any earlier version would be here or in the archives of the THSMB.

How old is the earliest version here?

I don't know, because I don't know where you posted it. I did a google search and posted versions from 2003 - 2009. I posted them here twice. None before 2008 mentioned red / blue, for instance.

THSMB? Are you referring to The Howard Stern Message Board? If so, I can't find "King of the Americas" on there. If you don't want to post your handle from that board here, you could PM me and I wouldn't reveal it or any other details you didn't want posted.

That's the board...

I likely posted under "His Majesty, Albert James Knabe, King of the Americas". I was less modest then. :)

No search function on that board, and not findable through google. So, at this point, I'll just note that your version of events here is inconsistent, as one would expect with a long-ago memory.

At this point, King of the Americas has a claim that, long ago, he saw funny lights in the sky through his windshield. Therefore aliens. Meh.

No.

I saw U.F.O.'s piloted by non-human intelligence.

I looked for the board itself, but was unable to locate its contents. Do you have a link?

Windshield reflections of 2 cats with flashlights around their necks playing in front of a disco ball could also appear to be "UFOs piloted by non-human intelligence." I'm afraid that your claim lacks evidence.

You have no idea what you saw, and neither do we. That's why finding the original story would be so interesting to me. I'm starting to disbelieve your claim about having this written up in a journal somewhere, now that you have me doing your homework for you.

I'm not the biggest Howard Stern fan, but I think that this is probably the biggest fan page. I don't think that the archives go back too many years, but maybe someone there could help.

Seems to me that you could have grabbed your journal, made a copy and blacked out the bits you didn't want to share by now. In any case, you still haven't addressed how your story changed from 6 plain old lights to at least 7 red/blue oscillating lights. Nor how you now interpret a 'cigar shape' as being a flying saucer. Nor how all the other details have seemingly filled in since 2003.

Feel free to find your original story and prove me wrong though! I really do think that we can all learn something useful from this. :)

ETA - for instance, thanks to joining the Howard Stern site, I was treated to a lovely photo of his new bride in a thong. Puttin' the E in JREF.

No such user at the board I linked above.

The site you linked isn't the THSMB...

The THSMB went down years ago. The moderator was "Dr. Ivan", whom I can no longer find, would have an archive on hand. In fact, 'I' might accidently have one too, somewhere.

I looked for that journal, but was unable to find it, which means it is in storage.
