The problem is not Islam or the Qur'an. It is human intercession into divine teachings. The Shari'a is corrupt. Did you know that stoning adulterers to death is a violation of the law given in the Qur'an?

God is great. His fan clubs suck.

This screed against Islam in general is just another example of fundamentalism eating society from the inside out.

We are, by law, a nation that remains neutral on religious matters until someone tries to prevent a religious practice that neither breaks the bones nor picks the pockets of non-believers.

Taqiyya refers to people who are forced to profess disbelief (16:106) and so does not excuse any other kind of deception such as pretending not to be Muslim in order to achieve some terrorist goal.

It also, historically, was used against other Muslims (specifically, by minority Shia Muslims against the majority Sunni Muslims). That's why while taqiyya is recognized by Shi'ites, the four Sunni Madh'hab don't recognize taquiyya as a specific concept.
