Merged Discussion of the moon landing "hoax"

I got Big Bang Theory season 3 for xmas and in one episode the boys bounce a laser off reflectors placed on the moon by the original astronauts. Does anyone know if this is true because the main character points out that this is something anyone can do that proves that people have indeed been to the moon.
 
Come on people. Obvious troll is boringly obvious. I bailed on this thread after my first post on page one, and my predictions as to how it would go aren't exactly million dollar prize worthy.

One of the reasons I find myself posting less and less on this sort of site is that the quality of argument simply isn't there any more. It's all just entrenched loonies or adolescent trolls. Both your and ultimately their interests would be better served by ignoring them regardless of any juvenile attempts at monopolising your attention. It's all about the illusion of control - they think that by goading you into responding to their obvious baiting that they are "controlling" you, in much the same way that some idiots get off on making false emergency services call so they can get a buzz from seeing lots of people running around supposedly dancing to their tune. It's sad.

The whole "I'm not talking to them, I'm talking to any onlookers that might actually listen" rationale only goes so far. When the posts are as content free and puerile as most of the ones in this thread, then there isn't any enlightening to be done. It's all just a bit too codependent. Read a book. Go talk to some smart people about a mutual interest. Because engaging obviously immature attention seekers on their own level doesn't reflect well on either of you. Your choice, of course.

If people don't want to respond then they will make that choice for themselves without a condescending critic.

How can the footage that NASA took be the real thing if there's no way to prove it with today's video technology on the Internet?

People were raised to believe the Moon Landings were real.... So how can a normal person question that ?

It can be done, but it's just very hard and the Big Bang Theory characters are unlikely to have been able to actually do it with what they had. :)

There are 5 of them.

They are all made of corner cube reflectors, meaning that the light being reflected will always return to the point of origin regardless of the angle it hits the reflector.

Apollo 11, 14, and 15 placed reflectors on the Sea of Tranquillity, Fra Mauro, and Palus Putredinis near Mount Hadley, while the Soviets had reflectors placed onto their rovers Lunokhod 1 and 2, although only the reflector of 2 was used since 1971 when Lunokhod 1 got lost. It was found recently using the LRO images and now has been used as well, with surprisingly good results. Lunokhod 1 is in Mare Imbrium while Lunokhod 2 landed in Mare Serenitatis near Le Monnier crater.

You are looking at a small amount of evidence of the missions in isolation instead as simply one piece of a vast amount of evidence that exists from one of the best documented events in the history of the earth. If you still refuse to accept or try to understand that evidence then ALL you will ever get are condescending critics. It's what happens to people who are willfully ignorant.

A12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 also placed radioisotope-powered laboratories on the Moon. They returned about 30 gigabits of science data over seven years (selenology, solar wind, radiation environment, micrometeoroids). This data was received at tracking stations all over the world.

Apollo was in large part politically-driven, but it was also one of the great programs of scientific exploration and dramatically changed our understanding of the history of the Moon, Earth, and solar system.

I generally agree. That's why I don't try to argue with the rabid 9-11 twoofers, because there is simply no point. The information is out there for all to see, and the links are available at the top of the page.

Same with Apollo Hoaxers to a degree. If they say radiation was too high, I provide a link to show they are wrong, etc. After a point though, their inability (or refusal) to accept reality is tiresome. There is enough data on the thread, and websites on the web, for people to see what a load of codswallop these people talk.

When you have a deranged idiot in a corner, talking to themselves, trying to engage them in a lucid conversation is going to be futile.

Fantastic. C'mon deniers - handwave away actual equipment set up on the moon that anyone can detect/interact with. I have faith that you can somehow...or are we going to stick with the tired old tactic of anomaly hunting - if so, please present something better than the pathetic saw-a-video and the falling speed just-ain't-right.

So the video of the sandbag was taken on the Moon even though it was falling tooo fast? I don't think that's how detecting actually works.

You're a one-trick pony, dude. Ignoring a vast body of evidence and claiming that because in your mind something was "falling too fast", one of the most documented events in history didn't happen isn't exactly how detecting works either.

I just watched this. Twice.
It is labeled "Moon Landing Hoax - Wires Footage "
They claim the astronauts were supported by wires.

Couple things:

1) To prove how wires can be hidden in the video, they used an example of video CGI from 1991. That hardly seems fair.

2) They tried to show a couple times where light flashed off the wires that are supposedly holding up the astronauts. But, the light is clearly just reflecting first off the antennas on their backpacks, and then causing lensflare in the camera in the first example. The second example could be lesnfare too, but could also be some recording artifact, since the entire top of the video frame is distorted at that point.

I'm not sure what sandbags you were referring to though.

The Government (NWO) told you to say that!

Watch when the guy gets up from his kneeling position @2:16...you can clearly deduce that there are wires helping him to stand up. And by "deduce" I mean, pay NO attention to the fact that he uses one arm on his fellow astronaut to brace himself while he gets up...and instead just let your mind imagine a wire harness.

When he stands up, you can clearly see the sample bag being dropped at a speed which could never happen on the moon.

That one single sample bag drop disproves all of the Apollo moon landings. It also proves that 9-11 was an inside job. And finally, it proves that the Joos control the entire World.

So the moon missions was achieved by blast off popcorn.

No wonder there was a big audience to watch the Apollo missions,the plume of white smoke trailing the Rocket was really a plume of popcorn for the spectators.
