Teabagger Heroes Humiliated At The Polls

Perhaps instead of gloating, you should step back and think about that.

A candidate who NOBODY had even heard of a year a half ago, came within a hair of unseating one of the most powerful democrats in the country.

And that's with unions like the SEIU throwing everything but the kitchen sink into keeping Reid in office.

That's with the Casino bosses openly supporting Reid and even telling their employees to go vote for Reid the morning of the election.

That's with 3 visits by Obama during the campaign and a final radio interview by Obama election day.

That's with Michelle Obama flying into Vegas the day before the election to help get out the vote.

That's with voter turnout events where democrats clearly violated the law by providing free food to get groups that are largely democrat to vote.

That's with Reid being Mr Pork in the Stimulus Bill.

That's with the mainstream media being in the pocket of the democrats (ignoring their dirty laundry) and focusing on anything that would cast the Tea Party or Angle in a bad light.

That's with Nevada democrats holding a registration edge of 60,000 voters (more than the margin of victory).

That's with a less than perfect republican candidate who admittedly had and expressed some pretty extreme views on a number of issues.

That's with voting machines that seemed to automatically check Reid's name.

Speaking of which ...

I find it a little suspicious that pre-election polls from one of the most accurate of the polling organizations (Rasmussen) showed Angle ahead by 3 to 5 percent, yet Reid wins with a 5 point margin. Plus, Rasmussen's polls showed that Angle was extending her lead as the election approached. She had a 3 point lead 2 weeks before the election and a 4 point lead 1 week before the election. And Rasmussen wasn't the only organization showing this. The Mason-Dixon Polling and Research survey (for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow) gave Angle a 4 percent lead just a few days before the election, with a margin of error of only 4 percent (http://www.lvrj.com/news/angle-poll-data-improve-106287803.html ). CNN polls also said Angle was leading by 4 percent less than a week before the election (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/10/29/two-straight-polls-angle-49-reid-45-in-nevada/ ). Here's a complete list of polls in the final days of the campaign: http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=5351 . They ALL show that Angle was ahead of Reid and extending her lead ... and yet Reid wins by more than the margin of error in any of those polls?

Hmmmmmmm….

:D

tl;dr

Not nearly as pathetic and stupid as drawing a parallel between the treatment of teabaggers and the historic treatment of black people in the US.

It is not even remotely as pathetic although I do not see where Whiplash drew such a parallel.

I would say you're missing Rubio, who was by far the single most important "tea party" candidate. Shocking that you forgot that one. Also, Paul definitely and obviously counts, since he has self-identified as a tea party candidate all along. Your reason for excluding him is as stupid as all the juvenile pejoratives you can't help yourself from using. But I realize they don't fit your narrative, and I don't begrudge you your coping mechanisms. "OH YEAH!!11!! O'Donnell LOST!!! WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!!1!1!!" Priceless. Completely predictable, but no less hilarious for that. I'm glad that getting your ass handed to you hasn't affected your self confidence, unjustified as it may be. But here's a tip: you have to be above someone to condescend to them. Your side just suffered the biggest defeat either party has experienced in the last 70 years. Loser.

The lesson that people with brains learned is that if you nominate unelectable candidates, they won't get elected. If you nominate decent candidates, they can win. If the tea party hadn't needed to learn that lesson, Republicans would likely have won both the Nevada and Delaware senate races as well. Hopefully they'll nominate more Rubios and fewer O'Donnells in the future. That would be better for everyone, since candidates as bad as O'Donnell deprive voters of a meaningful choice.

But those facts would have gotten in the way of the OP's most awesomest thread ever.

I feel a bit embarrassed for the things I said here earlier. I let the subject get to me personally, which is really the whole desired outcome of provocative commentary such as the repeated usage of pejorative insults in political discourse. And I hate that. It just serves no good purpose.

I was too judgmental and reactionary, and I apologize for that.

I wish I had not gotten myself involved in these subforums again because it always goes the same way for me. And it's not a good thing. I just had interest because of the recent election.. and certain attitudes and commentaries just get under my skin and I start to rant.

I'm outa here, I apologize for anyone I insulted. These types of discussions get too much for me to deal with, psychologically. I get irrational and angry and spew too much venom.

I have an idea. I nominate my representative, Andre Carson as minority leader. I am sure that the fact that he actually is a muslim won't be used in any way as a scare tactic by the right.

As a Liberal, do you realise what islam would do to your movement

Do you even have a clue what islam would do to liberals

As a Conservative, do you realise what fundamental christianity has done to your movement?

Do you even have a clue what christianity has done to conservativies?

BTW: I think he was being facetious.

I hear you brother. I left 9/11 CT for somewhat similar reasons (and just out of sheer boredom). I won't likely stay here much longer, as these topics seem to bring out the mean in me, and in others who in any other subforum, I would get along with (and have).

There is a reason why they say politics is one of those things you shouldn't bring up around people you like.

When you left to come here I was thinking hmmm, frying pan - fire ;)

logger is making you nostalgic for the 9/11 forum, admit it :)

Let me add this to your lack of attention span ...

Maybe this explains how Reid went from being down 4% in polls to winning by 5% in just 3 days?

http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.co...oversees-suspect-election-machines-in-nevada/

Rory Reid, the son of Nevada U.S. Senator Harry Reid, is in charge of the voting machines that were reported as malfunctioning and are serviced by the SEIU.

Rory Reid is running as the Democratic nominee for governor of Nevada against Republican Brian Sandoval. Rory currently holds the office of Chairman of the powerful Clark County Commission and is the former chairman of the Nevada Democratic Party; he was elected to the Clark County Commission in 2002.

… snip …

Rush Limbaugh added this on the controversy:

This is Mark Hemingway in the Washington Examiner: “Clark County is where three quarters of Nevada’s residents and live and where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s son Rory is a county commissioner.” That means that Harry Reid’s son is the person in charge of overseeing the election machines that are being maintained by the SEIU.

:D

Have the Republicans put forward any practical proposals for making our (America's) health care system better?
