TAM 9 Dates

Probably not. I've already had one person sign up to be a volunteer. In fact, she volunteered for TAM9 before TAM8 started!

Maybe again this year, all my volunteer work will be done by the time I get there. Sign me up for that afternoon shift again! :)

How does one volunteer? What is involved? Does one get a shirt? What is the plural of wug?

When will the TAM10 dates be announced? People are getting very impatient.

How does one volunteer?
Email scott at randi period org or wait until I start a 'volunteer thread' here around April 2011.
What is involved?
About 3-4 hours of light work, but not during any of the talks.
Does one get a shirt?
Yes, you get a wonderful t-shirt with "VOLUNTEER" across the back instead of the normal t-shirt.
What is the plural of wug?
"More than one wug". :p

Sounds cool.

But I want my shirt to say, in large block letters across the back:

EVENT
STAPH

:D

Sign me up, too!

I've discovered that I actually get a small size shirt this way... :D

Hey, 'Skater. Long time no vidi.

I'm really gonna try to make it to this one. I can't promise not to have heart surgery, but I'll do my best. :D

Yay! Since they moved the dates, I will actually be able to stay past Friday evening next year. I would love to see you again, Piggy.

So that's Thursday thru Sunday?

I might try flying Wednesday and Monday, just to give me some breathing room, depending on the event schedule.

Then again, if everyone leaves Sunday, that might make for a very lonely evening. It might be best to come home and see my cats and call my family, maybe even go over and have supper with them.

I tend to get very depressed after events like this.

My first reaction is an almost overwhelming anxiety. After a while, I relax and start enjoying myself (sometimes... I predict this will be one of those times). Then when everybody leaves, I feel incredibly sad and alone, until I readjust back to normalcy.

My twice-yearly poker weekend is in January, here at my place, and that Sunday evening is almost unbearable.

There was still a reasonable (although somewhat somber) crowd wandering about on the Monday this year.

If I go (still need to see if I can afford it again, and I'd like to see some list of speakers so I know there's going to be a certain amount of new material), I'll definitely be volunteering, and I'd also be staying for at least a day or two after TAM finishes. There's plenty of things I'd like to do that I didn't get around to.
