NEADS in Rome NY was patheticly equipped.

Well, I am leading us down the wrong path, for that I am sorry. The US military was concerned about unidentified planes flying into US air space from without, as in Russian bombers. NOT highjacked planes that originated from commercial flights within our borders. Was that a mistake? In retrospect of course it was. But it was just that. Something we hadn't worried enough about.

and btw Java...you arent argueing the planes that struck on 9/11 came from outside US borders are you?

There was ample time to respond and they could should have adapted to the situation. It was 30 minutes for heavens sake!

I agree with you. I wish they could have responded in time. But that they couldnt doesnt mean they didnt want to

...it really was a truly unique situation Java...and even if they could have responded it would have been a terrible loss

it was a terrible loss. What needs to happen is making sure we have a vigilant behaviour to these attacks, dont you think?

Sorry, my bad 478 miles. Hope that clears it up for you.

What goes MACH 2.5? What is your new claim? Wow, if you are a 911 truth believer, did you get the math right? That would be a first.

I am afraid to check your numbers, but your post makes no sense anyway. I know what you think you are trying to say, but you failed.

What was your point? What is turn radius at 2.5 MACH? How do you lock up an airliner surrounded with hundreds of targets? Why did the United States never have armed air patrols over the USA for over 200 years ready to shoot down airliners? Why is the military under civilian control?

There was no Mission for NEADs to shoot down hijacked aircraft before 911; what else is old news? I was surprised how fast USAF and FAA realized the idiots were attacking us.

I claim the time to figure out 911 and take action, is the exact time the Passengers on Flight 93 stood up and took action. FAA and NORAD were up to speed at the same time, but were not in a position to take action. However everyone was busy getting ready.

Never flown high performance jets have you? Any experience with locking up targets? Flown any intercepts? Just what function do you have besides posting nonsense on 911?

oh, posting more nonsense. good job

... And they couldn't scramble to that? Let's clarify this. If unidentified planes were detected over Bermuda the response time would not be enough to stop two Mig-25 from dropping steel bombs on Central Park.
At 2.5 MACH in your infinite fuel MIG-25 super-nano-FOXBAT? You are funny!

We don't have to launch on a MIG-25 carrying bombs at 2.5 MACH, it will flame out well before it gets near. Funny stuff. I think the FOXBAT top speed on the deck is 650, 740 mph. OOPS

Where was the FOXBAT coming from?

if nothing else truthers and debunkers can agree that we dont want this to happen again

The only reason why they could only find a jetliner on teevee, and not on actual radar, is because teevee is the only place where a jetliner image (shadow thingy) could be seen. Teevee is a medium for illusion.

So tell me mister, did you ever serve? If you didn't then how can you know what the hell you're talking about?

perhaps you could explain to him why it's not a good idea to have high performance fighter jets doing ubber mach through commercial airliner routes? These truthers think all you have to do is scramble a pair of F-15's and they'll secret squirl themselves to a single plane out of a thousand in the same airspace.

frankly JREF is full of posts that explain this in exruiating detail. I have learned alot here...and was hoping to learn more about how we (the US that is I guess) is more prepared.
Are we?

Posts explaining how NEADS handled things and how the US is prepared to scramble fighters

The only reason why they could only find a jetliner on teevee, and not on actual radar, is because teevee is the only place where a jetliner image (shadow thingy) could be seen. Teevee is a medium for illusion. That illusion (of a jetliner penetrating WTC 2 and causing an explosion in all the wrong places) was a pyrotechnical display and was a part of the hoax, the deception, the exercise, the psyop.

Please give consideration to doing no further harm. Posts and threads that perpetuate the common storyline myth are a huge disservice.

They found planes on radar silly. As a matter of fact, we have their radar data and can validate the paths of all of the planes involved using multiple sites and sources. No, threads like this help to remind us that in many cases NEADS was operating under a handicap on 9/11. The ONLY thing that gave them the edge was the fact that there were exercises scheduled and were staffed beyond what they normally would have been. Posts like this perpetuate the truth ... too bad truthers are not interested in that.

Dear Maverick beachnut, the Mig-25 is a) an 1970s design, b) very able of traveling said distance at said speed.

At full military power the Foxbat can maintain 2.83 Mach. "High altitude: Mach 3.2[6] (3,500 km/h, 2,170 mph); Mach 2.83 (3,090 km/h, 1,920 mph) continuous engine limit[6]" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-25)

You are aware that the only aircraft capable of continuous afterburner usage is the SR-71 (at least that I know of). So 2.83 Mach @ continuous engine power means no afterburner usage.

At lower altitudes it would max out at 1200 km/h "Low altitude: 1,200 km/h (650 knots, 740 mph)" That's without burners and it's still considerably faster than the jetliner.

BTW range: 1,730 km (1,075 mi) with internal fuel.

Trying to pull a high g spin on the argument there beachnut?

and btw we have no evidence of that...
the attacks came from within the US....are you desputing that?

An hour? Who needs enemies if they've got a friend like you?

Flight 175 crashed at 9:03 and 93 at 10:03 (minus say 10 minutes between revolt initiation and actual crash). So ok, lets make it 50 minutes.

You're claiming 50 minutes between the second tower hit and realizing they're under attack? It's also 20 minutes after an aircraft hit the Pentagon. The Pentagon!!!!! You're claiming it took them 20 minutes after the Pentagon was hit to figure out there was an attack?

Seriously, you're not helping much.

Sorry Java, but what arguement are you making here?
MIGS attacked WTC?

No obviously not. What I'm saying here is that based on the response time between the last response of the airplane to the control tower and the impact on the tower a Mig could have flown from Bermuda to New York City at full military power (no afterburner) and dropped ordnance on Central Park.

I'm also saying that a Mig could have flown from Halifax (not that it would, just to put distance in perspective) to New York in the time between the first and second tower hit.

There is also a 34 minute time difference between the second tower hit and the impact on the Pentagon. That's also enough time to have a Mig fly from Bermuda to Washington DC at full military power (once again, no afterburner).

So 2001 technology, as underfunded as it may have been could not handle scenarios presented by 1970's aviation technology? And this is the country that spends more in defense than the next 16 countries on the defense spending list (combined).

ummm you do realize that the DoD encompasses a lot more then just "minding the homefront", right?

Once again, as so often seen, is the "How could 19 arabs from caves beat the greatest military machine in the world" argument. So weak.
