Insane Clown Posse's song about 'Miracles' called worst song ever

OMG I met Mickey Mouse and Sleeping Beauty too! I suppose that makes them real! Disney World is a magical place.

I said I met Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler.

And yet I've never heard either of those character saying in an interview that you can animate a broom with magic or be wakened after a hundred year coma with a kiss.

They aren't joking.

They had a science lab in the basement
And that's where my free ti...well, my time was spent
I made a mouse with a chicken head
It clucked three times: CLUCK, CLUCK, CLUCK!
And then it was dead
I made a lot of things though, like a frog with a turkey neck
gobblegobblegobble, it was the **** (yeah)
But I'm still lonely, I need a homie
So I collected limbs and made a zombie
I could've made a girlie friend
But **** that, I got my girlie right here...yeah!

Yep, dead serious.

Is this the song we're discussing. NO

And yes I think these lyrics are humorous.

So the punchline is that they think their fanbase are morons.

It depends on how you define moron? I reserve that term for people that pay $50 to watch Brittany Spears lip sync a song someone else wrote for her. :D

YMMV though. I think people who believe they saw a giant hominid walking in the forest are morons. Or people that think they can bend spoons with their minds, morons.

Their are a lot of different morons in this world, to each his own.

What I see and I think a lot of others in this thread do to is that if ICP said in an
interview about the Mad Professor lyrics that

"Yeah I think it's cool to take animals down into your basement and hack em up and stitch em back together randomly."

we would have a problem with that.

So is it okay to pander to that?

Oh so you want to define a band with 100's of songs spanning 3 decades by a single song? That makes a lot of sense.

You can find "anti-intellectual" songs is just about every bands repertoire. Even if they weren't wearing outrageous make-up and calling themselves Insane, we wouldn't take them literally.

Why the hell would you ever take ICP seriously or even worse, literally? You're obviously the fan they don't want because this type of music is too much for you to process.

And rightfully so, hacking animals to bits is a crime.

Being ignorant of what makes magnets work isn't.

You seriously can't see the difference???

Um, yah, that's the entertainment business.

Did you know they pander to people who like to see people getting cut up and hacked to bits? Yah, it's called a "Horror Movie"

Can you imagine? I hope that doesn't catch on.

Imagine if they even tried to claim that what you saw in the movie was real, and based on actual events! OMG, that would be so wrong wouldn't it?

Oh wait, Amityville, 4th Kind, Blair Witch Project come to mind.

So it is okay in your opinion to pander to that? Note this is a question not a statement.

So what kind of fans do they want?

And horror movies aren't intended that you empathize with the villain but with the victim. That's why they are horror not adventure movies.

Okay question 3bodyproblem.

Do you believe that the entertainment industry has no responsibility in the message that it may send in it's product?

I should reply to the moron question. I intend it to mean the original definition. Someone of well below average intellegence.

Yes. If they moved into televangelism I'd reconsider.

So what kind of fans do they want?

Fans that go to the show, have a good time and go home happy. Same as any entertainer.

Really? Let's take 2 popular horror villians. Jason and Freddy Krueger. Do you remember their bask stories? What about Blair Witch?

You empathize with the characters in horror movies, it's their what they do that you despise.

It's irrelevant to the issue though, there's money in pandering to people's dark side. As long as it's entertainment there's nothing wrong with it.

Do you believe that the entertainment industry has no responsibility in the message that it may send in it's product?

No.
