amb that Poll question was horribly worded so as to be a seriously false dichotomy. "For" or "Against" leaves out the correct answer for most which is "it's none of my business, and it isn't your business either". For this reason I consider that poll result unenlightening.
 
It the duty of every muslim to convert by whatever means every man woman and child to islam. It's right there in their qu'ran. A moderate muslim is not a true follower of islam.
When a single muslim migrates to another country, it's really two migrating. The muslim and Allah.
Throughout the Western world if politicians only stop and listen, up to two thirds do not want any more muslims in their countries. Let alone allowing them to build madrases and mosques in their mist.

It is the duty of every Christian to convert by whatever means every man woman and child to Christianity. It's right there in their bible. A moderate Christian is not a true follower of Christianity.

When was the last time that a christian blew themselves up as well as whoever happened to be nearby?? Christianity is bad, but pales into insignificance compared to to this most vile of religions. At least their [christianity] leader didn't marry an eight year old and had sex with her when she turned nine.

To be fair, that´s wasn´t technically done for Christianity, only with the utmost conviction of Gott mit uns because, well, god is with whoever thinks so.

To paraphrase Pratchett (I think), no atrocity was ever committed with the conviction that god did not want it to happen.

I could cite Christians who bomb abortion clinics and gay bars. But wait, that's not the same because the bombers did not kill themselves in the deadly attacks. Yes, Islam is much, much worse than Christianity because Islamic bombers kill themselves whereas Christian bombers don't.

Christianity has a lot of skeletons in it's closet, and I don't think we want to turn this into a who's killed the most infidels topic (because, frankly, I think xianity wins handsdown). Both religions have had horrible things done in its name, but its not fair to anyone to lump all the innocent, religious people with the murders. It's intellectually dishonest.

And what? The individual congressional candidates may or may not have made any comments regarding the mosque, either pro or against. But I guess this is politics, guilt by association is a key strategy.
 
I don't buy the whole "It's none of our business" bit. I'm seeing Americans trying to interfere with the rights of other Americans for reasons I see as relating to bigotry. Whenever a majority tries to use their weight to oppress a minority and deny them rights they majority enjoys themselves, it's everyone's business to correct that.

Just my humble opinion.
