WR, have you assessed the risks associated with an evacuation of Florida? Known risks inevitably incurred by mass evacuations include:
- Vehicle traffic accidents
- Stress and injuries from packing and moving
- Medical problems caused by separating people, including the elderly and infirm, from their normal sources of health care, medication, support, and emergency assistance
- Violence associated with looting (e.g. fights between looters and stay-behind property owners, and between looters and LEOs)
How do these compare, quantitatively, with your assessment of the risk of pockets of concentrated toxic vapors wafting inland (while somehow remaining concentrated in the process)?
In other words, what do you tell the widow of the man who after over-stressing and over-exerting trying to pack as many valuables as possible, and then getting stuck in traffic causing more stress, has a heart attack and dies because the ambulance can't get through? That at least he didn't breathe in any concentrations of benzene the EPA considers unhealthy for long-term exposure?
Respectfully,
Myriad
