That's a straw man if I ever saw one.
Is it though? His argument is, that as long as there are worse crimes out there, we should not worry about weaker ones. My argument directly argues against that.
The argument is that the federal court system is spending resources on prosecuting a certain adult porn movie creator, even though what is produced by him is not illegal. The prosecutor is only trying to set a precedent imho.
Child porn on the other hand, is illegal, and should be fought with all available resources. Those include the resources now waisted on prosecuting John Stagliano.
Well considering how they are treated on camera, either he pays very well or treats them very well. Otherwise it's hard to explain how he finds actresses.
If one was to survey the political and legal community that is fighting pornography, what is your guess of the percentage that have viewed pornography (outside of teenage curiosity)?
50% 80% All?
99.99% of the men.
Oh, I don't think that's true. I think that most porn stars these days make a lot less than you would imagine.
Most male performers in straight porn are paid less than their female costars. Ron Jeremy has commented on the pay scale of women and men of the sex film industry: "The average guy gets $300 to $400 a scene, or $100 to $200 if he's new. A woman makes $100,000 to $250,000 at the end of the year.[9] "Girls can easily make 100K-250K per year, plus stuff on the side like strip shows and appearances. The average guy makes $40,000 a year."[10]
Already countered by someone else in the thread...Oh, I don't think that's true. I think that most porn stars these days make a lot less than you would imagine.
Excuse me? You need to go read some of the other threads there have been on pornography here. None of the above is even remotely accurate as a general statement about the porn industry. And it's an extremely insulting characterization of those of us who have actually done porn. You might consider not painting with such a broad brush (the one above happens to be about as broad as a barn) in future. These are people who don't think long-term. They could be drug addicts and this is an easy way to get enough for a few fixes. Or people who are easily manipulated and intimidated by a guy like Max Hardcore, who is kind of scary. Some people are just submissive and accept what they are offered because they aren't confident enough to question what they are told.
Genesius -- about porn and your avatar...
I first tried finding that image, which I recalled having seen on a humor blog (see link), foolishly, by googling "sheep AND porn" in google images.
Baaaaaaa-aaaaaaaad idea.

If there's a war against porn, I am going to start a new "red cross" foundation to help the wounded.
Hmmm. . . for some reason the links on that page don't work for me.
