Ed Tea Party protest descends into madness, racism....

Save your victory dance. I hold the tea partiers responsible for the racists and jackasses in their midst just as I hold the anti-war activists responsible for the takeover of their movement by Communists.
Well, let's take a look at the post you were replying to.

Not quite as bad as the 'Ken ya trust Obama' signs.

It's extraordinary this movement has picked up the support of prominent Republicans such as Sarah Palin. If there was an equivalent extreme left-wing movement that attracted prominent Democrats, how would Fox and co react?
Do you hold the prominent republicans (not just Palin) that are bowing down to the teabaggers responsible? I recall very few democratic lawmakers showing the same defference to ANSWER that I am seeing the GOP talking heads give to the teabaggers on the Sunday news programs.

I will continue my victory dance.

So when are you guys going to accept responsibility for the 9/11 truthers?

A far more apt comparison to truthers would be birthers. Do you really want to start a comparison about the relationship between national Republican lawmakers making crazy birther comments, and national Democratic lawmakers making truther comments? Especially considering the how long the truther movement has been around vs. the birther movement. How about a discussion of how various news outlets have handled the birther and truther movements?

Not even close.

What is this double standard, why do they use the childish n-word instead of ****** when they use faggot in the same article?

And why does JREF blank ****** but not faggot? Why do you hate homosexuals?

you see, faggot is an acceptable word to use, but ****** is not.

kike is ok. spick is ok. chink is ok. spear-chucker is ok.

but not ******.

Are they?
Republican National Chairman Michael Steele and one of the organizers of Saturday's Tea Party rally strongly condemned the racial slurs that some black lawmakers alleged were yelled at them by some health care protesters as they headed for a procedural vote at Capitol Hill.

"I absolutely think it's isolated," Amy Kremer, the grassroots coordinator of the Tea Party Express, told Fox News on Sunday. "It's disgraceful and the people in this movement won't tolerate it because that's not what we're about."

I recall very few democratic lawmakers showing the same defference to ANSWER that I am seeing the GOP talking heads give to the teabaggers on the Sunday news programs.
I remember John Conyers sopeaking at an ANSWER rally, and Rangel sending a letter of support to be read at the rally.

I will continue my victory dance.

Don't forget your blinders!

What did International ANSWER do?

(not that it's relevant to any of this, just asking)

I just received an e-mail from my foremost rightwingnut passing on a celebratory story from the "Patriotic Resistance" about their protest in DC.
The author of the story was quite thrilled to have met Jon Voight there.
Jeez, I spent 4 years at college with Jon.
He's a nice guy, but only an actor.
That's hardly a high point of a large anti-government rally, with all the moronic posturings and lunacies that one had.
...
Maybe it was. :(

News flash: skeptic forum descends into madness, homophobia......

A well known skeptic forum denigrated into hurling homophobic "tea bagger" comments today when a political rally where racial and homophobic comments were reportedly used was discussed.

Awaiting first "no true forum member" comment.....

Haha, wtf, do you even know what teabagging means?

I call them Tea Baggers for the same reason I call Republicans Republicans and Democrats Democrats. They gave themselves that name, and then suddenly got all red faced when they found out why the rest of us were laughing.

More:
Moments ago, while members were on the floor for a vote, a protester stood up in the visitor's gallery and began shouting "Kill the bill! Kill the bill! Kill the bill!" Clerks quickly removed him. But as they were doing so, a number of Republicans--at least half a dozen, from what I could see from a few feet away--were cheering the man.

Representative Barney Frank, who was the target of yesterday's homophobic epithets, told reporters he was "appalled" and that he felt the Republicans "were encouraging him to resist. ... I've never seen members of the House cheering on a guy resisting being kicked out of the gallery. It's a dangerous situation and the Republicans are cheering him on."

Tea Party protesters disrupted Speaker Nancy Pelosi's press stakeout at a House Office Building, yelling "you're a disgrace to your office" and one protester yelled a gay epithet at Rep. Barney Frank again on Sunday, adding yet another layer of chaos to an already tense afternoon on Capitol Hill.

...

Someone in the crowd yelled "faggot" — an epithet overheard by a POLITICO reporter — at Frank, who is gay. A group of Catholics supporting reform sang a chorus of "we love you Barney, oh yes we do."

"It's like the Salem witch trials, and healthcare is the witches," Frank said. "There is mass hysteria."

Some Republican lawmakers encouraged the protesters.

As the House was voting on an unrelated bill, Republican Reps. Tom Latham of Iowa, Jo Ann Emerson of Missouri, Brett Guthrie of Kentucky and Greg Harper of Mississippi stood on south balcony off the House floor - an area known informally as "the beach" — holding pieces of paper that read "kill the bill" to a group of cheering protestors. Some Republican lawmakers waved a "Don't Tread on Me" flag from the balcony, causing the crowd to go wild.
Inside the House chamber, a protester was ejected by Capitol Police after yelling from the House gallery.

What? "Tea party descends into madness, racism"?

Please... in order for it to descend into something, it would have to have been above that something at some point, which I cannot see.

To end the question, fag and fagot have meant more things than just a slur against gay people. I am sure that it is a case of wanting to leave those words in , in case anyone wants to use them in the correct context. Same with chink, as a chink is a crack or hole in a wall or other such thing that should not have a crack or hole in it.
