Amanda Knox guilty - all because of a cartwheel

For example, the video of the bathroom showed a great deal of reaction - it was covered - but that was not revealing where Meredith's blood had been.

That was indeed revealed blood. The bathroom test wasn't performed with luminol...but with phenolphthalein.

Crumbs. You think that's what the bathroom looked like? That would have to be painted to get like that.

The bathroom was painted with forensic chemicals. What you see in the photo is how the chemicals react when exposed to air. Even in the absence of blood, the Kastle-Meyer testWP chemicals will oxidize and turn pink.

The Perugia prosecutors counted on the average tabloid reader interpreting the pink stains as blood.

That's exactly what confuses me a lot, why do Raffaele and Amanda come up with false stories instead of denying knowledge and involvement? If they aren't guilty (of which I have to admit I'm not convinced) they certainly made a lot of errors.
Especially in the case of Amanda blaming Lumumba I could see the (unlikely) possibility of her coming up with that story without outside pressure to get the interview over . She might have just been irresponsible and stupid.

How would you react when the police told you they had a clear video image showing you were at the cottage when you know you were not? The police made this claim and threatened Raffaele with jail if he kept telling them that Amanda was with him. They did the same to Amanda. These two were rather young and rather naive and didn't recognize that falsely claiming to have evidence is a standard police tactic.

BTW - If you think that an innocent person has nothing to fear from talking to the police, watch this lecture.

Indeed, a naked footprint far too small to be Rudy's and is a match for Raffaele Sollecito. He hopped to the bathroom.

So you are claiming that Raffaele hopped over Meredith's body, hopped into the hall, hopped into the bathroom and just when he had a sink handy to hold on to he puts his foot down on the mat.

The footprint on the mat looks nothing like Raffaele's but does bear a striking resemblance to Rudy's. {link}

Why exactly should that move Raffaele or Amanda to admit they were there if they weren't? Especially when admitting that they were not together or at the apartment certainly would incriminate them and land them in jail? What kind of threat is jailing someone when the alternative is more serious? That does not make sense.

That's been debunked elsewhere in this thread, Dan. The scale of the footprint is skewed on the FoA site to make it look like it was Rudy's. It's actually Raf's.

So what you call debunking an FOA document is to present a skewed PMF document.

Well, can you explain how the PMF document is skewed?

The PMF doc shows how the FoA one is messed up and provides evidence. Can you do the same in regards to the PMF doc?

That is what I was trying to point out. The forensic chemicals did not detect only blood.

I don't know why someone would deny that. It seems a little odd.

Not really. Simply because if a key was a REQUIREMENT to get OUT of the cottage, we would certainly have heard that testified in the trial...it is hardly a mere 'minor detail'.

I would also add, IF there is a requirement to use keys to get out of the cottage (even if there isn't in fact) the keys would have been unlikely to have been in her purse or pocket, put rather put down on a side or table somewhere (ditto the phones). That's actually what most people do with their keys. They don't want to be having to rummage through their purse for them every time they have to take out the rubbish, answer the door or pop out for 5 minutes.

The following is a really minor point, & doesn't establish anything about what kind of lock actually was on that door, but:

my personal, and admittedly anecdotal, experience of living in a house for 18 years where keys are required to open the exterior doors from either side is the exact opposite of what's posited in the second paragraph here.

I always have my keys in my pocket, except at night when they're on my dresser, so that I always know exactly where they are in case of an emergency.

My wife always has hers in her purse for the same reason. Granted they are at the end of a plastic chain so that they can be found & pulled out of the purse in less than a second. Meredith's keys may not have been similarly attached, but then she may not have had 8 llbs. of crap in her purse either.

Anyway, on the face of it, I don't find the isolated notion of Meredith keeping her keys in her purse incredible at all. (Unlike the lone wolf theory, which is a separate issue.)

The footprint was not doctored on the Friends of Amanda site. That was something a certain person claimed but not true. The person who put up that photo analysis is not going to support a lie. If it was Raffaele's footprint, he would want everyone to know that.

Why do you find a single perpetrator to be unlikely?

Can you address the points made in the PMF powerpoint?
