Interesting. I have it on "firm authority", based on the antipathy for Truthers here, that "the vast majority of JREF posters are Republicans". Of course, when I questioned that claim and offered to do a poll, the results were dismissed out of hand since "polling right-wing liars" is a meaningless exercise.

Personally, I was surprised that no Republicans stepped up yet. I don't consider skeptics to be a political bloc.

Does anyone care to come over to www . buffalorange . com and show this guy just how deluded he is?

Can't speak for others, but the fact that I completely believe that Shrub and his BBuddies Dick and Karl are all flaming rectums and that the liklihood of me ever voting for a republicker for any office higher than restroom attendant (L. Craig would love that job)is vanishingly close to zero, there is no rational way to see/believe they were involved in the 9/11 thing in any way except stupidly not tightening certain areas of security after the August briefing.

I am certain they were involved in a number of things that are and/or should be crimes against this country, but that isn't one of them.

Uhh the poll didn't include "I don't bother to vote in elections, but I support far left Socialists".

You forgot to include a "Communist Terrorist Hugger" option.

"Left-wing" in the US is actually Right Wing. So is "Right Wing".

So, if I understand you correctly, you're saying that Obama/Pelosi & company are too conservative?

Holy crap on a cracker, Batman!

Nothing that fits me, so no vote, and by the way, no Planet X option, which makes this an invalid poll. :p

Is it really that much of a shock to you that American politics is heavily slanted to the right, from a worldwide perspective?

I don't think it is even remotely a balanced perspective. From where I sit, here in heavily Democratic Maryland, Republicans and Conservatives are few and far between. So, yes, it is a shocking - even unbelievable - thought that American politics could possibly be considered slanted to the right, even in the slightest.

Is the rest of the world really slanted that far left?

Europe is at least.

Even in Australia Obama would have been running for Liberal (the major right-wing party) rather than Labor (the major left wing party)

American politics is fairly right. I'm a Chicagoan by and by, so I can understand what you mean. But after I researched the parties in many countries, it seems like the fair conclusion.

Dude, trust me: I lived in MD for a while and still have family there, I've lived in southern NJ, and I currently live in TX. I'm definitely convinced the country as a whole is slanted slightly to the right of most of the industrialized world.

I am atheist/agnostic and I vote by abstaining as I believe the 2 party system is a perpetuator of the Oligarchy that prevents real democracy

No vote in the poll for me as well. I vote for whoever I feel is the best. I am not a party line voter and I am not registered as a D or R anyway. Sadly last election was not a vast improvement over 2004 which I thought would stand as the worst election choice ever. It still might be but 2008 was quite a disappointment for me. I was expecting two great choices. This time instead of a douchebag vs a turd sandwich we got a bottle of cheap cologne vs a sandwich that fell on the floor.

I am atheist, but I don't vote party lines at all. I vote for the candidate that I think will do the best job, not the one that has a (D) or (R), or even an (I), (L), or whatever else may be there. I research the candidate and make my decision based on that.

I know, SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!

That said, on fiscal issues, I try to stay conservative, on social issues, I try to stay very liberal... Never seems to work though.

Congratulations on your flawless conspiracist logic. To defend an assertion that posters at JREF are all Republicans, simply extend the definition of "Republican" to include "Anybody who posts at JREF". It's not quite as impressive of your recent definition of the entire population of the world as terrorists, but it's still a very credible attempt to make any form of verbal communication irrelevant to you.
