My predictions:

Obama will beat Romney. He'll lose some battleground states but should win with 300-330 EVs.

In Congress, Dems will keep control of Congress but will not have a filibuster proof majority; you'll see some more Bernie Sanders-type independents (not Lieberman types).

Palin in my hot tub!

Oh, wait, sorry, we are of roughly the same age, I lost my focus for a moment there.

My vote in the poll was: Obama wins, GOP does good in Congress, and I expect only one house falls to them.

Unless Obama really screws the pooch, a lot, I don't see much of anyone running for president having a platform worth running on, since the GOP is in self destruct mode at present. Locally, here and there, GOP might regain some ground.

Who cares. The world is going to end in 2012. I have seen it in movie!!!!!!111!!!!!!!1

Whatever. Obama was always the most attractive celebrity running for office :p

UNLoVedRebel, I cannot understand your choices:

1) Obama will win and the Dems will keep (take) control of Congress
How can the Dems "(take)" control of Congress if they already (based on numbers only) have control?

2) Obama will win and the Republicans will take (keep) control of Congress
How can the Reps "(keep)" control of Congress if they do not now (based on numbers only) have control?

Same for your third and fourth options. Please clarify.

There's this thing called an election. We'll have one in 2010, and then another in 2012. Things may change in 2010. Of course, UR may be wrong and the Dems will have control of the Senate after 2010 and going into 2012 and not the House, leaving control of "Congress" up in the air. Of course, that still makes him a sexist and racist for his other comments.

I'll pull some specific predictions out of my posterior orifice. If I'm right, I'll make sure ya'all know it. If I'm wrong, I'll just hope the thread dies quietly.

Obama vs. someone we've currently never heard of, who makes it sound like they're a political outsider, but in fact has been an insider, pulling strings and making decisions for years. They'll have someone safe and well known as their vice-presedential canidate. They'll be carefully vetted to make sure that there are no skeletons in their closet, but that also will mean that they've never done anything of any note, and everything said about them will be empty hype. Obama wins, but not by a landslide. Congress remains slightly democratic, and so does the house, but neither one has a filibuster-proof majority, so that the republican party can go back to obstructing, while complaining that nothing ever gets done.

I think this should question should be left to the other thread about the 2012 election. It is quite premature to be predicting anything since there is no clear R candidate right now. I still stand by my prediction that it will be Huckabee though. Also it is inevitable that the D's will lose many seats in 2010/12. Probably not enough to lose congress though. Can any R overtake Obama? Way too early to tell. Though any catastrophic failure will likely condemn Obama to one term I believe. This could include passing bills that will raise taxes on people he pledged not to, the Iran nuke situation taking a turn for the worse, people discontent with passed health care bill, collapse of the dollar, Afghanistan turning into an endless quagmire or possibly worse a "counter-terrorism" strategy that proves ineffective, successful al qaeda linked terrorist attack on US soil, continued upward trend in unemployment, or a host of other things or combination of the above. I think especially if the failure is related to the war or security then a R candidate will have a strong chance. But anything can happen and we are a long time away from the 2012 election thankfully.

Jeb Bush will beat Obama in '12, Senate will flip to GOP, house will stay dem.

If that happens, I'll truly regret Billary didn't win in 2008.

The reason is sheer comedy value:
Bush, Clinton (2x), Bush (2x), Clinton, Bush ...

Oops, sorry. I misread the poll being about 2010. Penance will be listening to Limbaugh/Beck for 3 straight hours. :)
