Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

-The empty tomb is a fact.
What tomb?

-That this Phd. in astrophysics makes a very strong case that prophecy is true (well at least 10 to the 2000th degree true) is a fact.

http://www.reasons.org/fulfilled-prophecy-evidence-reliability-bible

-thousands of changed lives is a fact.

-that most historians believe Jesus existed is a fact.

-the Bible is the greatest selling book of all time is a fact.

-that some people like Thomas Jefferson say the teachings of Christ are the most moral and sublime the world has known is a fact.

-that there is good historical evidence for the resurrection is a fact:

And it's a fact that Jesus condoned the beating of slaves.

ETA: IF you are going to repeat arguments, so will I. At Least I can say that my arguments haven't been refuted.

Christians should read the bible then, because it's clear that the god of the bible is hardly perfect, just or good.
That is your opinion as someone who does not look at things from an eternal perspective. God is eternal so He must obviously act with eternity in mind. He is also not limited to the 3 dimensions we are.

So, how many dimensions are needed in order to make beating slaves morally acceptable?

ETA:
How many millenia are needed to consider eternal punishment for a finite crime acceptable?

What exactly is the long range perspective is needed to justify God's torturing of Job to win a bet?

Fail.

-thousands of changed lives is a fact.

Fail.

With a side helping of fail.

-that most historians believe Jesus existed is a fact.

Fact. However, there is no evidence that Jesus was the son of any god, nor that he was resurrected.

-the Bible is the greatest selling book of all time is a fact.

It really is amazing how many of those threads failed on the very first page.

DOC, you would have gotten one out of six, but your side helping of fail cancelled that. Too bad.

But... MLK was not a Bible scholar.

He certainly studied the subject, but not as deeply as other did, being otherwise busy.

So you're saying a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston University and a pastor who published a book of his sermons is not a Bible scholar.

What tomb?
The tomb that is either under or very close to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher that most historians and archaeologist believe is exact area where Jesus was Crucified and placed in a tomb. This was all shown in the Archaeology thread.

You missed answering why or why not. Then we can get to whether they've been demolished or not.

If you read my 950+ posts in this thread you'll understand why I think they haven't been demolished. If you disagree then that is your right.

no it wasn't.

In order to keep order in eternity logic says there must be punishment for violating the spiritual laws.

On the other hand you believe a servant who beats multiple men and woman should be fired and allowed to walk away with no other punishment. That beater of men and woman is likely to do it again if he knows there are guys like you who will basically slap his wrist.

what does this have to do with god thinking that it's ok to beat slaves?

I was using your silly "there's no cops" premise. And it is punishment to lose a job, lose income, not receive back wages...

That beater of men and woman is likely to do it again if he knows there are guys like you who will basically slap his wrist.
I believe that men can atone for thier past. I guess god and jesus don't.

Yes it was. The post and Website is in that other thread.
I"m sure you linked to websites that claimed what you say, but that's not the same as providing evidence. It's simply links to assertions and logical fallacies.

I'm going to quote this post and put it in the other thread.

This is what you call a 'fact'? No wonder you're confused.

But your god is a merciful god. Nothing is beyond forgiveness according to the babble.:p
