The 25 fulfilled prophecies of Isaiah chapter 53

Why is this Isaiah important again? Hopefully not because of his generic texts.

The cavemen in Europe did a lot better with their generic drawings; they predicted that the Native Americans would hunt buffalo some day. Just have a look at them!

If Jesus was indeed the Messiah that was predicted, all one would have to do is to report what actually took place and it would appear that the story was written to show similarities to Isaiah chapter 53 and others such as Daniel chapter 7 verses. 13-14. Your post needs to assume Jesus was not the prophesied Messiah.

You DO know that the gospels were written after the fact, right ?

Not at all, it is not an insult. I thought you were an atheist. But from the sites you bring in you make me believe you're a practicing Jew. Maybe you should clear this up since you do so much attacking in my threads -- are you a God believing Jew or an atheist or an agnostic?

I think I will report this for a rule 11 violation, it is off topic and irrelevant.

1. What does the alleged prophecy predict?
2. How can you measure the predictions?
3. In what ways does a chosen figure meet the metric?

4. Where is the prophecy coming from? By what mechanism is it revealed?
5. What exactly does it prove even if it does come true?

A baby unattractive? Have you ever had children? It doesn't come more beautiful than a newly-born baby.
And what arrogance. Manual labour is nothing to be sniffed at.

To be honest, I think 99% of the newborns are very ugly. (from my point of view, the parents have every right and reason to think otherwise)

Small parts of babies are beautiful, like their tiny fingers and toes. and their eyes of course. It takes a couple of years before I think they are cute

Babies are ugly because their proportions are off.

Finest 100m runner of his day. Went four years without a defeat (1526-30).

Ah, but Sybill Trelawney was the best prophecier prophecist prophedictress prophetrix prophetess of her day.

And Harry Potter was a WAAAAAY better seeker than old Nostradamus anyday of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Ah, but the fact that Nostradamus ran 100 meters proves his prophetic abilities.

Maybe it's YOUR proportions that are off!! Ever thought of that ? :p

Ah, but the fact that Sybill was able to teach on the subject of prophecy while being drunk on cooking sherry is even more proof of her prophetic abilities.

Who cares? DOC, I am a God-believing Jew, and not an atheist. What does that have to do with the topic?

Hmm, I seem to recall on the Jefferson thread someone linking to neo-Nazi anti-Semitic garbage. I wonder if that means they are a neo-Nazi anti-Semite....

Why don't you bring in the post, I doubt you will.

Humanist, Philosophical Naturalist and Empirical Monist.

So, OK, you're not a God believing Jew. But then why do you often say the Jews would disagree with my posts. Why does someone who does not believe in God use God believing Jews websites to argue against my pro God posts?

Which god?

Yeah, all they had to do was quite simply report the observed fact that Jesus was conceived of a virgin, for example. Let's ignore, though, how it is that they would have witnessed the virgin birth.

There seems to be quite a bit of stuff written about Jesus in the NT, by the way, that the writers couldn't possibly have observed (e.g., what Jesus does when nobody else is around--remember, if they were witnesses, they must have been around).

Naive people like myself could be led to believe that the writers did, in fact, not witness those events--without even needing to appeal to things like inconvenient historical data. It's as if it's written specifically to demonstrate that Jesus was the Messiah.

But oh, how many things they wrote that fulfilled the prophecies! Could there be something to those events that the authors could not have possibly known, but wrote about?

(Let's also ignore that the "prophecies" were about other things... they are only prophecies insofar as it was a common belief that the holy texts had multiple interpretations--such as the ones the authors had in mind).

Well then it makes sense for "you" to bring in God believing Jew websites to counter my arguments but it doesn't make sense for someone who does not believe in God to do so.

Are you suggesting that it matters what you believe with respect to prophecies?
