Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

An atheist should let God believing Jews speak for themselves. It just seemed kind of odd to me for an atheist to be guaranteeing that most Jews would disagree with my post, she should talk for most atheists not most Jews -- unless I am wrong and Hokulele is not an atheist but a God believing Jew.
Not at all. She could be just someone who knows more about comparative religion than you. Much much more.

don't you all find that these types of threads just serve as a soapbox for anyone with a vested interest in Jewish zombies
:D

Why does an atheist care about what most Jews would think of my Christian post.
Why do you, a Christian, sit here and devote yourself to making us atheists believe?

Why does an atheist care about what most Jews would think of my Christian post. You must have been raised Jewish. If that is true then I would assume you are now a godless Jew like Sigmund Freud.

Completely wrong.

I have read a bit of Jewish literature and spoken with Jews on this topic. The point of the whole matter is that the term "messiah" didn't have anything to do with divinity, so your attempt to bring Jeremiah (a Jewish prophet) in as evidence of Jesus' purported divinity is misguided, at best.

Have you already forgotten the topic?

Regarding the rest of this derail, the others, particularly Ichneumonwasp on Isaiah, have it correct.

Didn't yourself make quite a few posts regarding Mormonism?
At least, Hokulele seems to know what she is talking about, while more than a few flaws were quickly pointed out in you understanding of Mormonism...

yup thats right they did, and far more, they also gave you your God didn't they
Well, it would be more accurate to say that God chose the Jews to reveal himself to the world. In a way it seems God chose one of the least likely peoples considering the Jews were slaves for 400 years in Egypt and Babylon. God has a way of choosing the least likely to do his work -- like the stutterer Moses, or the sinner David, or the Christian persecutor Paul, or the little poor baby in the manger.

So now DOC is an anti-semite as well? Wow.

So you're talking for "most Christians" now or are you special?

So now that your lies and nonsense has been completely and utterly torn to shred, all you have left is this weird martyrdome complex and ad hominems?

Please keep in mind the Membership Agreement and do not use personal attacks to argue your point.

That would be the suffering servant, a nice Isaiahan trope, which refers to the Israelites who suffer but will persevere nonetheless.

How in the world do you go from the suffering servant to Jesus as divinity? That passage refers to a man -- who stands in symbolically for a group -- with not only no mention of divinity, but no intimation that divinity even entered the authors mind (that is for the suffering servant).

The very passage in and of itself can be considered divine since it prophesies Jesus. In fact Isaiah 53 is the chapter that converted the lead attorney for Pat Robertson's American Center for Law and Justice, Jay Sekulow (who was formerly Jewish). So you have your opinion about what the passage means and others including myself and Jay Sekulow have ours.

...or some fella on the Internets with no understanding of the Bible.

Another Doc's a liar post with no explanation. You've already been warned twice by moderators in this thread about attacking the arguer. You obviously don't take their warning seriously.

No explanation needed. Just read any post that's not yours and then read your posts. That's all the evidence of your lies.
BTW: That's four times. Get things right.

You are wrong to say Jeremiah, I brought in Isaiah 53, the chapter that converted well known attorney Jay Sekulow from Judaism to Christianity.

Are you saying Sigmund Freud was not godless and a Jew, I don't understand, explain yourself.
You must have forgotten the rest of your statement:
"You must have been raised Jewish. If that is true then I would assume you are now a godless Jew like Sigmund Freud."

So what has being raised Jewish or godless got to do with the validity of someone's statement? What does it have to do with Freud?

So? Someone makes a stupid decision and it is somehow evidence of your nonsense?

That's true. Your statement is a Non-Sequitur since it falls into the "I'm not a racist but black people are criminals." excuse.
Just for the record, I never said this but of course you said it in a way that it might be interpreted that way by some.
