Gravy was using it to explain the clap of thunder.
Because according to you, any loud BOOM is the resulting sound from an explosive device discharging.
No. The clap of thunder cannot be a single column failing and making a sound like the crane failing.

Should I conclude using that logic that the crane came down because an explosion destroyed the supports?
No

So if I am following you correctly... the collapse resulted from a single discharge?
You are not following me correctly.

I thought controlled demolitions relied on destroying all of the major supports to cleanly implode the structure and ensure no damage to surrounding buildings. Isn't "inside the footprint" a classic argument you guys spit out?
WTC 7 did implode and landed mostly in its own footprint. It wasn't perfect, neither is Gravy's analysis of what caused the clap of thunder.

So you agree that not all loud booms are the result of explosives?
Correct

Why do you not apply this same reasoning to WTC 7?
The loud boom was NOT the result of a single column failing as Gravy claims.

You are running away from the point here.
I'm not the one that is refusing to post what was requested. You have run away from every request I have made.
Gravy's claim that the clap of thunder was a column failing was wrong.
You forget one thing:Gravy never made such a claim.

But, If you type in large print that means that everything you say is true

Well, since my print is larger than c7's print, I'm morer truthier. :D

Do you really look hard? You looked at each page of NIST?

I know when I read 10,000 pages; I miss something and have to go back.

Did you miss it? BTW, you could estimate the concrete. Each floor was 4-inches thick with lightweight concrete (most likely with some ash filler, you know the Gage/Jones magnetic micro-sphere came from here), and 5-inch floors on the core.
.
Adobe will search all 54 reports for whatever word or phrase you tell it. It had not trouble finding the THREE places where they specify the "roughly 200,000 tons of steel." In two years not one person has come back at me with a quantity for the concrete and location specified in the NCSTAR1 report.

You are free to try to find it if you think you can. Adobe won't copy text out of the report but the Evince software for Linux will. It won't search all of the reports automatically though, just on at a time.

Interesting, why bother to read and educate yourself using whole context when you can quote mine using commonly available software.

If someone said "Compare the color of this cube to the color of this sphere"

a truther would say

"The shapes are totally different! You can't compare them!"
Gravy compared a single failure to a series of 24 column failures over a period of 7-9 seconds.

The events are entirely different! You cannot compare them!

Wow...he even QUOTED my prediction prior to fulfilling it. I was right on the money. Tell Randi I'll take the $Million in fiftys.

The point, christopher7, is that 2 DIFFERENT events can be compared if we pick out specific attributes. As in my example...we're only comparing the COLOR of 2 different objects. We're not comparing EVERY aspect of the objects. Do you understand?

C7 has successfully shifted this from the pasting he was getting on the Twins to WTC7, just like he has shifted the other WTC7 thread from his incorrect claims about fires in WTC7 and blatant assumptions regarding witness testimony to the blob of glowing metal.

He is a master of the dodge.

There is no evidence, audio or visual, of explosives going off at the WTC that day. Full stop. He has nothing except a few simile laden witness statements.

he has plenty of names of people like Sunder and other witness yet he will not follow up on anything because he is a coward.

Yes. Do you understand that Gravy was comparing the sound of a crane snapping to the sound of a series of column failures.

It is an invalid comparison.

The only explanation for the clap of thunder is an explosion.

Or a crane snapping.

Yes. Do you understand that Gravy was comparing the sound of a crane snapping to the sound of a series of column failures.

And for an initiating failure it wouldn't be all that surprising... you're really clingy with the straws. More to the point, whether you say so or not, you're doing the exact same thing every CT'ist does when they hear a simile -- you take it literally and outright assume it to be an absolute signature of an explosive.

I just brought this up in another thread:
Hu said firefighters didn't seem to direct their hoses at the fire until the flames came down to ground level. At that point the water seemed too weak to fight the fire. "The steel outside was shining and red, like a pyramid. There were small explosions happening inside," Hu said. From his vantage point, Hu estimated more than 1,000 people had crowded on the street to watch the flames.

A statement like this for the trade centers always turns into some form of argument for explosives. Yet they [conspiracy theorists] don't seem to have a problem with similes if the ultimate result is (in their eyes) supportive of their contentions. Notice also that leaves out the laughable failure of many of these groups to offer a reasonable comparative

It is an invalid comparison.
Rather you are being called upon to own up to the very stupid logic you and other conspiracy theorists love to push around. If a person says; I was like an explosion" or "I heard explosions" or "It was like a bomb went off" it's not thought of as a simile, it is thought of as LITERALLY an explosive intended to cut columns. Learn to know what simile is or back off until you can substantiate that the term is being used in a literal fashion with supporting evidence...

Hey Christroller7, look. It's the inside of WTC 7 on 9/11. And what do you know. No stripped columns, no wiring, no "thermite cutter charges". Just a vacant building. Sucks to be a truther.

Do you understand that Gravy was comparing the sound of a crane snapping to the sound of a series of column failures.

The initiating event took place about 6 seconds before the clap of thunder.

You continue to ignore the FACT that the progressive collapse NIST proposes was a series of column failures that would have created a continuous sound over period of about 8 seconds.

Such a collapse would NOT make a sound like a single clap of thunder.

...
The only explanation for the clap of thunder is an explosion.

Does this mean you dropped Thermite?

But you said Thermite did it, and thermite does not make a big explosion sound.

How did you keep the thermite from going down? It flows with gravity, and does not go horizontal.

No...I believe Gravy was comparing the SOUND of this crane collapsing to the SOUND reported by this eyewitness as a "clap of thunder", which would invalidate your claim that this sound could only have been caused by explosives.

(Mark, please correct me if I'm wrong with my interpretation of what you were presenting)

It's certainly the point I was alluding to when I first brought it up, Gravy added one of the commentaries by one of the people who was there. Christopher seems oblivious to the central point though, and he ignored it in every successive response I've made making the same point.

Correct

He was implying that what Daryl heard was a column breaking.

which would invalidate your claim that this sound could only have been caused by explosives.
Incorrect

It could not have been a column breaking because a progressive collapse is a series of columns failing.

What Daryl heard was an explosion.

not an explosive

Gage makes the same mistake

You are using Thermite as your agent of destruction, and makes no sound like (simile) an explosive.

It could not have been an explosion because a demolition is a series of explosions.

Thermite was used to take out the core columns on the east end and some of the others. That's what the thermal images indicate.
Then conventional explosives were used to finish the job. That's what Daryl heard and saw.

Gravy's assertion that what Daryl heard was a column snapping like the crane is erroneous.
