Merged Jim Callahan's MDC claim

Mr Koenig has claimed elsewhere (post #9) that he is working on "the new Jim Callahan JREF MDC". Would you be happy to clarify what you meant by this David?

Chris

Jim will never be tested. He and The Professor think it's sport to yank the chains of skeptics. It's all they can do. They can't prove the skeptics wrong by demonstrating paranormal abilities and taking the million.

When you're on the losing team, all you can do is taunt the winners.

Since it is expalianed there I see no reason to go into it here.
Mmmmm, explained you say?

That's interesting because most people would agree with the OED that explanation implies in some way "That which explains, makes clear, or accounts for; a method of explaining or accounting for; a statement that makes things intelligible", whereas you think it involves obfuscation and deliberate avoidance of actual explaining.

Please remember how long it took the Professor to produce version 2 of his protocol. Plus the quality of the protocols. Now he is helping Jim. Plus how seriously he took the challenge. I suppose we can expect the same from Jim.

As for your silly "Never said I did Paranormal things" line, what would you call employing dead people and "{compensating} for {their} participation and time"?

I would say I know what I am talking about and you have no idea.

Why would that be considered paranormal.

If I do it it is normal. Perhaps not to you but that does not change the fact that it is not paranormal.

Sorry if this sounds pointed but I really do not see why this is so hard to understand.

Jim

Fortunately, he has committed to taking the MDC so he will have his chance for all to witness.

Way to go, Jim! What will your paranormal claim be? One recent claimant was unable to come up with a testable claim on his own so you may want to run yours by the forum first.

ETA: Mods, it may be time to move this back to the MDC challenge forum.

Jim, would you address the bolded part, please?

Jim Callahan and his reluctance

Is it worth discussing the million dollar challenge with Callahan? There is a thought process to his cowardice. He knows if he takes the challenge then he can't control all of the variables and therefore loses. His already weak career would take a fatal blow. However, if he keeps beating around the bush and gaining attention from us, his charade and more importantly career keeps going on.

Sure we should always try to confront con-men like Callahan, but could there be something to be gained by ignoring this attention seeker, since h has already been confronted and proven a coward and hoaxer?

I've noticed that despite Callahan's smear campaign, Randi has said very little. I would imagine that's because he sees Callahan as nothing special -- just another of the myriad that are not worth his time.

You seem to be confusing your opinion with reality

Why would that be considered paranormal.
If you don't know why employing a corpse would be considered abnormal, you might want to consider more than your position on the paranormal.

If I do it it is normal.
Normal is not defined as "what Jim says he can do"

Perhaps not to you but that does not change the fact that it is not paranormal.
As you seem to be having increasing problems with clear, unambiguous use of English, please note the OED definition of
normal:

2. a. Constituting or conforming to a type or standard; regular, usual, typical; ordinary, conventional. (The usual sense.)
N.E.D. (1907) notes ‘Common since c1840.’

and paranormal:

A. adj. Designating supposed psychical events and phenomena such as clairvoyance or telekinesis whose operation is outside the scope of the known laws of nature or of normal scientific understanding; of or relating to such phenomena.

Sorry if this sounds pointed but I really do not see why this is so hard to understand.
The main problem is your deliberate misuse of language and refusal to give any consistently straight answers.

I think Randi said all he had to do on Callhan a while ago, which instiled the anti-Randi disease in Jim.
I gather he debunked Jim at some point in th epast when he was trying to carve a career as a "psychic".

I think Jim's hair is paranormal;it hasn't changed in 30 years :D

ANyone see similiarity to OMD? ;)

Oh and Professor, how's the dead NASA dude? Got that recording yet?

Not at all.

I am suggesting that it is impossible.

Yes, that's the working hypothesis around here.

So, what will your paranormal claim be? With Uri Geller thinking you have an honesty about you and The Professor helping you with your claim and protocol, I don't see how you can miss.

Anyone else see Chris Angel on Larry King yesterday evening?

Apparently, Chris' career has tanked, he can't find a new girlfriend, has had to sell his house and property to pay off his debts and there will be no mores episodes of Mind Freak. He blames this all on a paranormalist (sic) who devastated him on some TV show.

Oh. Sorry wrong Universe.

Nevermind. :D
