how did it survive the impacts ? thermite ignites at a few thousand degrees.
explosives were placed either up the elevator shafts were noone could see them,or in plan view and using a cover like placing new internet wires or fireproofing possibly over the course of many years.

Except some portion of it would have experienced the impact of a 100 ton 767 ramming into it at 400 miles per hour directly... might be an issue....

This is inconsistent with the observed collapse. The core was the last part of the structure to collapse. Within the impact region any explosives installed would have detonated prematurely potentially initiating collapse even sooner if in the arrangement you suggest...

but what would ignite the thermite when it comes time to bring down the tower? could those components survive the same temps

thermite is not an explosives, and explosives will burn in a fire

or in plan view and using a cover like placing new internet wires or fireproofing possibly over the course of many years.

most explosives dont have a shelf life of "many years"
 
If it was possible for the planes to ignite thermite im not sure ? But because the planes were remote controlled into the building they would know where it would hit .

The antenna drops first ,this looks like a part of the core was melted away causing the rapid collapse initiation,interestinly squibs do seem to die out around the lower 1/3 of the building.Could this be related to the fact that about 1/3 of the cores height was left standing .

most explosives have a shelf like of so many years i wonder if thermite does or not ?

well im not sure why you expect me to know exactly how much thermite was used and where they put them and who put them there and how they placed them there .

I can only speculate and theorize the best place to do it would be to use the elevator shafts were noone could see you ,
