Joe the Liar

Or Malarin the ....

Here's the way it would typically be done in small business:

The owner sells the business to Joe, retires but stays on so his Master's license can be used. A period of three or five years is typical. Financing is a loan between the owner and Joe for the $250k. If Joe fails to make his payments, he's in default and the loan might be called.

Upshot: If Joe works hard and succeeds, he makes a boatload more money than Malerin.

Wheee!!!

LOL. Joe, who can't even afford to pay STATE taxes, is going to get a loan to buy a $250,000 business? Keep diggin Mhaze; you're not quite to China yet.

We clearly see then, a practical avenue to success for Joe in the phrases Joe used in his talk with Obama.
Since this whole story makes absolutely no sense, I see it as a dull appeal to the latent racism of the white middle class in rural areas. Black Barack wants to steal from them by taxing their profit, just to distribute their well-earned wealth amongst muslims and black buggers, lazy low-lives all together.

Sure. A state tax lien for $1100? That's all you have left now?

But you don't know any facts, do you? You don't know the circumstances, or the nature. Whether it is a disputed sum or one one acknowledged by the taxpayer.

Yet the existence of a $1100 past due tax in your mind, is grounds to smear some guy.

A sort of bullying, brown shirt attitude there, isn 't it?

And there you go. From "That's all you have left now?" to Godwin via brown shirt in one post.

"Smear?" WTF? The guy is not dependable. Lending to HIS kind, not to blacks, is what caused the melt-down. And then there is the unresolved traffic violation, involving running a red light. "Summons? I don't need no stinkin' summons!" The guy just isn't much of a citizen, and it was idiotic of him to show his face to a camera with that sort of thing outstanding against him. He's too stupid and untrained to own a business in the first place, and he is wetting his diaper and whining about being asked to put back into the system which he intends to exploit for his own gain.

He is feeling put upon by the world that does not give him what he thinks he so richly deserves.

Sit down, Joe, and do your Republican mantra again. Breathe deep and intone it:

"Meeeeee ME ME ME ME ME MEEEEEE!"

I think you're spot on.

The Republicans like to portray any tax system that is fair as "redistribution of wealth" but the massive spending on the military/industrial/security complex (and ignoring the revolving door relationship among defense contractors, lobbyists, and lawmakers) is patriotic.

Unfortunately, this spin has worked for them. They've got a sector of the lower middle class convinced that cutting taxes on the wealthy and very wealthy is somehow in their own self-interest. I guess that's where the pipe-dreams* of Sam the Unlicensed Plumber come from.

*The "pipe dreams" of an ambitious plumber. . . I think come from a pot pipe rather than plumbing pipes.

For one thing that cute little clip does not change the fact that you indeed DID go from "Is that all you've got?" to a Godwin fail via brown shirt in one post. Can you explain exactly how that clip has any parallels to the brownshirts apart from the ridiculous tags someone attached to it?
A look at those tags shows them to be "Obama youth paramilitary brown shirts Hitler youth lock goose step stepping". Lets look at that.

Obama: check.

Youth: check.

Paramilitary: Highly debatable. Looking at the definitions of the word the only one that seems to match is the first part of this: Of, relating to, or being a group of civilians organized in a military fashion, especially to operate in place of or assist regular army troops. So I guess they are as paramilitary as a marching band.

Brown shirts: Way off in woo woo land here. The SA was originally formed to protect gatherings of the Nazi party from disruptions from Social Democrats and Communists. So even if you want to leave off the bit about the Democrats and Communists can you show any evidence that this is a group of "brutal street thugs" that Obama uses to police his meetings?

Hitler Youth: More woo woo plain and simple. ANY comparisons there at all apart from a group of youth?

Lock step: OK you can have that one.

Goose stepping: Huh? Where?

And that's just the main tags at the top. I am not even touching on some of the even more wacky tags like antichrist that are listed at the side of the clip.

Did you actually listen to what they were saying? That evil Obama seems to have brainwashed (oh sure they say inspired but we know the truth) them into wanting to be doctors and chefs and architects and stuff. Scary!

Senator Obama does want to tax some people more so he can send a check to other people who don't pay taxes. That's part of his plan, and that is BS. Furthermore in N.J. we call that vote buying something the democrats have been doing here with great success.

How low will you people go with your attack on the Ohio guy?

1. Proof that Obama's tax plan will tax some people so he can provide a check to people who don't pay taxes? Got a quote from his tax plan to prove it?

2. If by "this Ohio guy" you mean Joe "the REP plant", why are you not complaining about the McCain campaign whining about the poor man having his private life taken from him by the DEMs and MSM outside his door, while at the same time, McCain mentioned him over 20 times in the 3rd debate, and mentions him at every rally since. They have an add where many people proclaim "I am Joe the Plumber" spartacus style, and now McCain has started a, yes this is correct, a "Joe the Plumber" tour of Florida.

You wanna look at who is supposedly abusing this "poor" Ohio guy, look to the McCain campaign.

Wow. How can people be so stupid as to think they are all "Joe the Plumber" when "Joe the Plumber" is a fictional guy who makes over 250K? It's like the red-state people all think they will become rich if a Republican is in office.

How?does he intend to offer tax relief to 95% of filers when some 40% have no tax obligation. Why can't American citizens ask a question of a candidate for president when they show up on their door step whats wrong with that?

Who is this guy McCain you speak of? Last week CNN gave the race to Senator Obama

What I am asking you for is a link to the portion of Obama's proposal that would give checks to people who are unemployed, on welfare, or have no source of taxable income.

See best I recall, his tax plan offers tax cuts to WORKING people who make less than $250K, not EVERY PERSON.

Prove it to yourself, show me a source. Otherwise, you are merely spewing the GOP lies.

As for the rest, well McCain is the GOP candidate. You know the GOP, the party supported by the right wing pundits. You know, the right wing pundits who were talking to Joe the Plumber DAYS before he ever showed up at an Obama event and allegedly just asked an innocent question.

The top 1% of Master Plumbers would certainly be a bunch of serious wage earners, as it would include bunches of business owners with 50-350 on their payroll, plus those working in refineries and chemical process plants, many overseas on payroll for Halliburton, Fluor Daniels, etc.
In other words, they make that much money by doing something other than working as a plumber.

Just for clarification, do you understand that owning a company that makes $250K-$280K (no word on if that is net or gross) does not mean that you pay personal income tax for that amount?

Indeed, even if Joe's accountant mangled the books so much that Joe does have to pay personal income tax at that level, that puts this "Average Joe" in the elite top 2% (or so) of wage earners? It certainly wouldn't effect Joe's capability to run the company since Joe's taxable income comes after all the expenses are paid.

Wait. What?

I must have missed something. Do you have a link for that?

They just don't want to become poor because a Democrat is in office.

Not at all a rational argument. We are poor because the Republicans since jelly-brain Reagan have been selling us Friedman's BS abouit the benevolence of the free market and making it as easy as possible for the rich to send our jobs off shore.

Stop whining about your taxes. That is not what broke the ecconomy. It was the greed of the precise people who think Republicans have a clue how to stimulate the ecconomy.
