And it would be based on what then? The overwhelming case against OBL? You're right, though. It's not sold as being race-based, rather a war against members of a religious group. Sounds just as stupid to me.

Hang on, you just said this in a thread about a recording from Al Qaeda's second in command where he is telling the Muslim world that Iran should stop it's lies because Al Qaeda did 9/11 and not the Israelis. You have the 2nd in command claiming they did it and you still refuse to believe it? Why do I get the feeling that is God Himself told you that Al Qaeda did it you'd just decide that He was in on it too.

No, just wondering why the case couldn't be made before starting the 'war on terror'.

there were plenty of attacks before 9/11 that were linked to al qaeda and al qaeda-inspired groups, 9/11 was hardly the first terrorist attack, it was merely the straw that broke the camels back (perhaps more accurately the bale that broke the camels back...)
