How To Be A Global Warming Sceptic

the behaviour of GWSceptics, which is clearly driven by right-wing ideology and has nothing to do with science...

Really, if this has nothing to do with science it should be on the politics forum.

But would you care to elaborate on your statement? What right wing ideology are you referring to?

If it belongs anywhere else, it would be psychology but there isn't a section for that.

This is so obvious that even you should get it.

Psychology? No, simple one. Psychology is a detached study of human behavior with all it's warts and wrinkles. You know nothing about that. Here is your comment again, and note the absence of level headed scientific detachment:

You feel strongly about an issue and you have defined that issue as a political issue. "of the most despicable kind". Your words and intent there.

Really, you'd have a lot of fun moving it to the lion's den, politics. But watch out for your sensitive feelings (basket of feelings, wasn't it) over there. It shall be "yum yum.....fresh meat".
This is so obvious that even you should get it.

Nope, afraid I have no presumption of knowledge of your unstated meanings. You see, this is an international forum. I wouldn't begin to presume that I understood somebody's concept of right wing politics. Numerous places right wing politics might be to me, left wing socialist. What's "right wing conservative" in Russia these days, a return to Marxism?

Out of interest, since you posted a list of papers earlier in this thread (heavy as they were on the words 'might' and 'may'), Varwoche, old thing, have you ever actually had to wade through a pile of published papers and get the meat out of them?

I'm not being pernickerty, I'm genuinely interested.

Bananaman.

add to the pile these papers....

You truly are insufferable. Arrogant, stupid, and mendacious in equal measure. How dare you suppose what I know about?

How to be a global warming skeptic:

Lie, troll, bait.

Isn't it time to just ignore him now?
You are right. Rational discussion is beyond him. I just hate to see people post the sort of tripe he does and not be challenged on it, even though his lies must be obvious to everyone.

Thanks. :)

Rather amusing, after I'd just said this...

Oh, are you referring to psychology? If you have some knowledge of the field you are welcome to show it with the appropriate technical language and literature cites as applicable to the subject in question. And please do, if you have such knowledge, skill and training.

If not, we'll just let our guide be your :words: .

No, wait a minute. No need for that, you've already shown your intent, bias and purpose.

Want to clue us in as to what "right wing politics" is of "the most despicable kind?"

Climate rationalist!

The Manhattan Declaration! You can just feel it reverberating in History, can't you? Bigger than the Manhattan Project (which, after all, only saved us from the Japanese and the Soviets, not from a real threat - environmentalists).

The Heartland Institute seems to have brought off quite a coup in the Small Pond. They have become the nexus, so to speak. And all in the comfort of Manhattan. I expect these events will become regular.

Next year's venue is exotic, sun-kissed Vanuatu, from what I've heard. All expenses paid again, of course. I'm working on my presentation already; it's a cut-up of mhaze's posts (public domain) and it'll have the audience roaring its approbation, just you watch.

I heard at the cash bar, beer was $10. You will be most welcome.

You are buying, right? (having learned the error of your ways, such would be the contrite, repentant course):)

You will be pleased that podcasts of all talks at the 2008 Conference are online.

It wouldn't stop him. He'd still be there, and even more of an irritant if you don't scratch it. And as a reference example of GWScepticism I doubt anybody could invent a better.

You could add "whine" to the list, by the way. Were mhaze ignored he'd whine about it. (mhaze whines a lot anyway, which is a common GWSceptic trait.)

What part of "all expenses paid" did I leave unclear?

I'm not in the slightest bit surprised. Nor am I in the slightest bit impressed.

Earlier you asked TrueSceptic "What right wing ideology are you referring to?", and TrueSceptic answered that it was obvious. It's even more obvious when it coalesces around the Heartland Institute, the Fatah of GWScepticism. You guys do give yourselves away rather obviously.

I guess some feathers have been ruffled at Cato and Heritage, but somebody has to take the lead in a triumvirate. It was ever thus. The important thing is that the GWResistance is better coordinated now that Heartland is acting as the clearing-house.

0h, I get it.

Right wing is pro individual liberty, pro small government, pro free enterprise.

So that is what True***.... calls -

right-wing politics of the most despicable kind.

Uh huh...

I look further than your words of the moment, grasshopper. As a newbie rejecting Warmology and embracing skepticism, you may often err and must expect corrections. Only by stubbing your toes often may you progress. It is a deep pit strewn with sharp ends of broken hockey sticks you seek to struggle from.

Buy the beer.

No, you didn't get it... happens to you a lot, too.

It was a simple question.

It's your prerogative, but all opinions should be heard.
I've been meaning to get back to this -- pardon the delay.

I couldn't disagree more with this platitude.

When it comes to understanding the science, non-expert opinions have little or no value. And given that there's more expertise readily available to me than I could ever hope to exhaust even if I worked at it 24x7 for the rest of my life, it's hugely non-productive to seek knowledge from doofuses.

have you ever actually had to wade through a pile of published papers and get the meat out of them?
I try.
