Political Compass (survey)

I'm always highly skeptical of these "polticial quizes" because they seem to herd people toward a particular ideology (see the Libertarian test). This one asked more then a few loaded questions.

Anyway:

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.64

Sure, it's not the most 'scientific' test :). Still, I have a feeling the final answer isn't that far from the truth generally.

I'm apparently very radical. I don't put too much faith in these tests.

Economic Left/Right: -7.75
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8

Wow! I thought I hated the police! You're practically a terrorist! :) just kidding...

Economic Left/Right: -2.88
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -3.18

Me centrist.

I also support the right of others to have hot libertine sex with Victor D., but have no interest in doing so myself.

Do you suppose their point in setting this up was just to show how close Margaret Thatcher is to Hitler by their reckoning?

And what the heck was that question on Astrology about?

Economic left/right: 7.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.23

Extreme right wing.. Wow, my social-democrat-politically-active friend will brainwash me if he hears that..

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.28

Standard English result there, I think. :D

Some of these I don't even know how to answer. Like, "If globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations." What does that even mean? And are the two mutually exclusive?

Many of them don't actually have anything to do with political affiliation. Like, "Abstract art, because it doesn't represent anything, shouldn't be considered art at all," or, "When a person is troubled, it's better not to think about it, but to keep busy with more cheerful things." WTF???? (and BTW, it's non-objective art that doesn't represent anything. Abstract art must represent an object or idea.)

Of them all, I think the one at self-gov.org is the most accurate; we had a bunch of people take it at a local festival a few weeks ago, and only three took issue with where they were placed.

(Oh, BTW: Economic Left/Right: 7.50, Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.26)

Talk about biased question writing! Holy crap! I don't even know how to answer the questions. It's like if I asked you, "Are you still humping your dog every night? Yes or No."

Holy crap, I took that last August and I was a Leftist-Authoritarian, nearing a centrist, this time around, I'm a perfect centrist, 50%-50%, this board has really morphed me. :)

However, the political compass registers me at -6.00, -3.69 which is farther to the left than I was before, which I think was also last August.

I am:

Economic Left/Right: 3.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.08

These also happen to be the only correct scores.

What do I win????

Economic Left/Right: -0.12
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.69

Oh yeah. Full-Blooded Libertarian.

"Some people are naturally unlucky"

Well, what the hell is that supposed to mean? Is it supposed to mean that in a sufficiently large population some people will end up really unlucky, or is it supposed to mean that some people are mystically 'jinxed'?

Oh, and -1.50, -8.05.

-8.05?! Bloody hell

I like to think of myself as the embodiment of all that Jedi Knight despises.

I've actually taken quizzes like this that put me more towards the middle - always left, but not always so extreme.

Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8.67

Haha, you fools -- me be the most bloody libertarian of the bunch here! :D

In the immortal words of Mel Gibson playing William Wallace -- FREEDOM!!!

(see my sig)

Economic left/right -3.75
Authoritarian /Libertarian -6.87

I thought the numbers were bunk until I clicked on their suggested reading list for Left-Libertarians (like me) and holy crap! they hit the jackpot with this one. These are the political books and authors that I'm most likely to read. (But they forgot Christopher Hitchens.)

But honestly I don't want to be lumped in with these people. I rather like the idea of globalization...really.

Me

Eco L/R -4.75
Aut/Lib -4.56

Don't believe it. Didn't understand half the questions. I was guessing on the right answer, which is ironic since the right answer is supposed to be my opinion.

edit to add

Btw on self-gov.org i scored

70%(20%) on personal(economic) governance. I have a problem with the 5 questions that had on econimic governance as they didn't really cover enough of the issues I think to correctly identify me.
