Law of Attraction: Superior Woo

Well, I'd love to see evidence too, but the followers of LOA are not scientists, so we're really not in the best position to do that kind of work. I'd love to see some real science done in this area. I suppose quantum physics is breaking into it, but we need to tackle it from the 'mover and shaker' end of things too.

Quantum physics is not related in any way to the law of attraction.

Is LOA like cosmic ordering???? I have a friend that is always going on about that and i was just wondering if they have any connections??

I've never heard of that. Like ordering your reality? I'll add it to my list of things to check out.

Please don't abuse quantum physics in this manner...

:(

Yes, I know you guys are such great fans of the Bleep flick. :D

But seriously, the info in that film was provocative.

Dr. John Hagelin, a Quantum Physicist, is part of the "the Secret" cast and he makes the connection between the LOA and quantum mechanics. See http://www.thesecret.tv/teachers.html

science continues to withhold lab time from the idea
Why do you think science would want to withhold such a would-be-if-it-were-true great discovery? Are all scientists part of some conspiracy theory to silence the secret?

LOA is testable, but as I said, you're going to have to structure the test to minimise variables, and as general non-believers, you would have to take your cues from the LOA experts for setting up the test.

The psychic guess test (i.e., beating the odds to a point of extreme statistical improbabilitiy) is a starting point. Would that not peak anyone's interest here? If you've got 10 containers, and I guess the correct one 100 times in a row, would you not at least say that that was on the outter edge of random chance? Would it not intice you to conduct an experiment with an even more statistically unlikely outcome?

You guys are missing the very simple boat on this one. It doesn't matter what the idea is, what matters is structuring the test parameters as tight as possible, minimizing as many variables as possible, the same as you would for any experiment...

Yes, correct divination of 1 out of 10 containers 100 times in a row under proper observational conditions would be very significant and point toward a real effect. But would a lesser number of correct guesses (a number near the amount as expected by chance) point toward the fact that there is no effect? Would you admit that such a result would make you think that LOA is probably not real?

If you always give yourself the out that the observer does not have the right amount of positive thinking or that there are too many unknown variables that you didn't think of, then LOA is not testable. So far, your explanation of LOA contains so many outs for why it is not observable that it strains credulity.

By the way, scientific testing of a psychic guess test has been performed by serious researchers over the years. The meta-result is grossly and overwhelmingly at what is expected by chance. What does this say to you?

A fair test. I doubt I could do it now, I'm still too green, but I am picking up the pace, and I speak with my spirit guide to assist me in knowing when I am ready for certain steps, so I will keep this test in mind.

It doesn't have to be you. Don't you know of anyone less "green" who could do it for us ? I'm sure many would be convinced and a lot more intrigued by a successful test.

What time buffer? What is harder to see?

I believe the time buffer is the belief that LOA will not provide a positive answer immediately. It takes time, maybe days, maybe years. So if you don't get what you wish for, you just haven't waited long enough. Unfortunately, the human life span is finite. It's not LOA's fault that you didn't live long enough to win the lottery. ;)

I'd be horrible at LOA. My abiding fear is that my number will come up before my numbers come up. :D

Even worse, Moochie... What if your numbers come up the day before your number is up? I'd like a bit of time to enjoy my winnings.

Re: my question on poverty:
Yes, I agree that is should be available to all, and it essentially is. The physical materials have a price tag of course; my first book was about $12. Libraries have some of this stuff, and of course you can probably nab it on p2p per your own judgement, or borrow it from a friend or local book club, ect.
Do you see any economic system where wealth and abundance is available to everyone? Can we really ALL be millionaires? (Who will pick up the garbage and wait tables for us?)

Ah yes, the sarcasm is coming in thicker now. Well, since you are talking about those specific people, the irony in your statement, even from a skeptical perspective, is that the hopes and dreams generated from a fake check are a heck of a lot better than the big-fat-nothing they're getting from the establishment at the moment.
My question about the homeless was not in the least sarcastic. If these incredible claims on the effectiveness of the LOA are true, these are the people most in need of it.

I disagree completely with your statement that hopes and dreams and a fake check are better than the attempts that are being made now are. I personally know of several people whose lives are devoted to working with the poor and homeless. Your dismissal of their noble efforts is callous and insulting.

Also, do you think poor people don't want to be better off? Do you really think the problem is that they don't want it bad enough?

Re: my question regarding victims:
Yes, attract it unwittingly, but certainly not desire it. LOA states that this is an attraction based universe, and that like attracts like.

The 'likeness' comes about in the form of thoughts and focus of thought. For example, someone who is focused on committing murder would be attracted to someone who is constantly focused on being a potential victim of murder.

So you think every one of the 6 million or so slaughtered in the death camps of Nazi Germany somehow attracted their murder? Every one of them went around with a mind focused on starvation, deprivation and murder? Remember, a great many of these people were completely successful, business owners, professionals and so on.

Since they got what they deserved (or attracted), would you find the actual murderers not culpable for what happened to the people they killed?

I find your system morally reprehensible. Since, as others have pointed out, there's no evidence at all that the universe does act the way you claim, it's a strange thing to choose to believe.

What time buffer? What is harder to see?
Abraham tells us that LOA works through a time buffer in the 3rd dimension. My feel on this is that this is a natural phenomenon in this dimension, as opposed to an artificial one, but I don't have enough info on that yet.

Essentially, this time buffer adds a delay to the attractor effect, which gives us time to balance our thoughts and energies before actual physical manifestation.

The downside is that we see delayed evidence of our aggregate thoughts instead of the instantaneous results that we would ordinarily prefer.

However, the delay is not set in stone, or at least the energies can be accumulated and compounded in a timed fashion for maximum effect. By mastering the LOA, one can build a high vibrational/emotional platform to create from, so that the big things are not only easier to achieve, but can actually be timed.

As to whether a person can bypass the buffer with a complete mastery of LOA, I don't know, but I would suspect yes.

Ftr, Jesus would be an example of an advanced being, possibly with 3 or more strands of DNA (we had 12 at one time, back in Atlantis, which yields a complete and fully active etherical (sp?) connection).

Jesus was able to perform various miracles, all made possible with advanced knowledge and presumably, advanced biology.

Well, I'm off to sleep.....until tonight...

I don't understand at all. We live in 3 spatial dimensions (length, width, and height, or x,y and z, or whatever you choose to call them), with the conventional "4th" being time. LOA works through a time buffer in a spatial dimension? So you can measure it in inches or meters? Huhn?

Or could it be you have no idea what the word "dimension" means? Or it's a metaphorical dimension (just like the "vibrations" that aren't really vibrations)?

And then you talk about a natural vs. artificial phenomenon--which again makes no sense if you're claiming LOA is simply a law of how the universe works. How could a law of the universe be artificial?

Do you have any evidence that any humans ever had three or more strands of DNA? Why just humans and not any other living thing with DNA in its cells?

If there were ever a case to disprove "like attracts like" and the non-existence of karma, it would be the Massie affair. The innocent was lynched and the main guilty party went on to live a long and happy life.

Life isn't fair, you can minimize the effects, but you cannot change the fact.
