When is JC returning?

adler, congrats on making it out. That can be a very tough thing to do.

Is your family still in? Do you get to see them?

I decided that my answer to the question "don't you want to live on earth forever?" was Sure but not with you ********.

Concise, to the point - I like it.

KK,
You still haven't told us how soon is "soon". Tell me, have you bought Christmas presents for anyone? If so, I guess us heathens have at least a week. Have you signed any kind of employment contract for whatever it is you do?

Do you have life insurance? Are you covered in case of rapture?

I'm just trying to get a ballpark figure, here. I need something to tell my financial planner.

SOON VERY SOON.
I was raised a Jehovah's witness, and thank me that I have for the last nine years been and atheist, The JW cult, and it is a cult, teaches that you do not need to get a higher education, have children bla bla bla. Because the JC is coming soon. In my ex-relion alone we were thought that the end of the world was coming in 1975, then in 76 we were told we expected more than the "meat in due season" or spiritual food that was given to us. Or it was our fault for expecting to much.
Thank science for the Internet, when it came out I started to read about my religion, at the risk of being disfellowshipped, a common threat of punishment given out to people who are dubbers as we call them, that dear to question the validity of the cult.
When Do you are not able to talk to your closest family members unless they would be Fed.
I found through much study, that the cult started by C.T. Russell was based on the old millerite movement, and that Russell had given dated for the end of the world since 1874,1914,1916 and his successors had done after him.
When you are born into a religion you do not see silly it is. I was able to stand back and question things that just did not seem logical to me.
I was told by one elder named dick Schrader that I thought to much and that at Armageddon there would be many "thinking" people that would be killed.
I decided that my answer to the question "don't you want to live on earth forever?" was Sure but not with you ********.

Sorry to reply to another of your quotes Adler, its funny I reckon most ex-jw's become atheists, I wonder why that happens ( BTW same here been an atheist for the last couple of years)
Anyway the JW's thinking has changed a bit since when you left , The advise on high education is one now, of choice, as in some areas like th US as example , getting a high education is the only way to be able to support yourself, but i will agree when i was 16yrs old, the advice and pressure was to enter the ministry work and NOT proceed with school, something which i regret. I remember a particular girl who was almost shunned ( for want of a better word) as she did carry on in school!.
By the way, family's will not get dF'd for speaking to DF'd members of their family, it is just JW matters that they are advised against speaking about.
Although My father still being an elder talk quite often to me about things of a spiritual nature.
Although i didnt realise until recently that JW don't believe in the young earth idea? did you know that? I though they believed in the a young earth.

By the way everyone got it wrong about Jesus...!

Do we have to start brushing up on Aramaic, or is the vernacular sufficient? ;)

Soon means I believe it could happen any day and perhaps not for several years, but we are closer than we've ever been.

And back to your other personal inquiries...well yes I have life insurance but what's the point?

And no I have been off work now almost 3 years becasue of my neck problems. No I'm not on disability, just off until whenever. The only job I really want now is sharing the gospel of truth with a world who really needs to know it's all true.

If I have a chance to feed the hungry and clothe the poor, I will do it all to the glory of God. It's not my will but His that matters. And no matter what anyone else says here, when people hurt I know God hurts.

Way to go out on a limb. Pick any specific point in the future and we are closer to it now than we have ever been. We are closer to the 2007 Kentucky Derby than we have ever been. That is sooooo cool!

Well that's pretty obvious. Every event in the future is "closer than it has ever been." See, that's how time works. It keeps slippin', slippin' slippin' into the future.:D

Kurious Kathy, I think you missed my post about unaswered question in the other thread.
I am a bit leary of your claims after I read, in another thread, about how widely off base your claims about Wicca were.

How's chances of your answering the outstanding question in that thread?

I hope you feel better. Chronic pain can be very debilitating and demoralizing.

I believe the Lord is waiting for the last sinner to repent and be saved before His return.

Okay, I'm still blown away by this and would really like to get some clarification. Kathy, do really believe that:

A) Jesus will only return after every last person is saved
and

B) Jesus will return soon.
Do you really think that all the atheists, agnostics, Hindus, etc., will all accept Jesus soon?

Gonna be a loooooooooooooooong wait. I think he'll have to stop being imaginary before he returns. That will be harder than getting the last sinner to repent.

No I believe many will stay lost. But God's perfect will is that all would come to repent and know Christ. He's the only one that can save someone, we are just here to testify that Jesus is the way, truth, and life. No one comes to the Father except by Him!

And yes I believe there are still many that will come to know Jesus before He comes back.

Actually, what the Romans did to Judea 66-70AD and again in 132-135AD seems to match Luke’s prognostications pretty accurately – so did the world come to an end then but nobody noticed?

I've read that the passage in Luke was actually written after the destruction of the temple but them claimed to be written a priori.

.

Apparently I am on Kathy's ignore list. Does anyone else want to take a stab at getting her to respond to the question about whether or not she is willing to admit she was wrong about Wicca?

I'll try to get over there shortly and answer if I can. I don't know too much about Wicca, but it is the popular teenage religion these days.

Thankyou, it's been 7 weeks since the last surgery and I get stronger each day. I'm managing pretty well on Tylenol so that's been really great.

That type of situation is difficult not just because of the pain but also because many people one encounters have so little understanding of what life is like when one is plagued by chronic pain.

You sound like you understand it pretty well. Keeping a good attitude helps too, but somedays can be more challenging than others. I have had to learn to make a lot of changes in my life because of physical limitations which is getting easier. I am 44 years old but sometimes feel way older becasue of degenerative disk disease. Oh well God's grace does help me get through it.

I feel sympathy for your pain but wonder why you are relying on science to relieve your condition rather than your faith in your saviour?

I am sure the likes of Benny Hinn, Peter Popoff et al will be willing to heal you in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, in return for a nominal tax-deductable donation to their ministry.

Ding, ding, ding. The biblical analysis I've read suggests that in all likelihood all of the canonical gospels were written after 70 AD so the temple destruction was a known fact at the time of the writing. The prediction part comes from backfitting to the OT.
