Kingdom- it is possible...is it even slightly possible...that what you see as "explosions" is really just concrete and dust and debree being forced out by the force of the compacting steel and air and structure above it??

to answer your question...yes. the damage from the plane severaly affected the structure of the buildings. all 4 sides are neccessary to hold up all that weight...knock out even 1/8th of the structure and it is in bad shape.

structural damage + weakened steel from fire's heat + weight of building above damaged section...is what eventually brought down the buildings.

the wtc towers were built to withstand an airplane hit..and they did their job well...but they were not built to last perpetually after such a strike.

I've seen a lot of vids of the collapses....but at 4:40 of this video, is some of the best footage I have ever seen...which shows a closeup slow-mo of the floors being blowup floor by floor in a downward wave:

Yes the impact, fires, building failure did the damage on the WTC causing moderate damage to many buildings around the area.

The enegy released by the towers was close to 500 tons of TNT, almost as much or more energy as a small nuke. The energy from fire and impacts exceeded 1000 tons of TNT.

Watch that vid at 4:40 and focus on the front left hand corner...you tell me, is it at all possible that planted explosives are causing that?

Now continue to watch that same video until you see the part where Matt Lauer from the Today show narrates over the collapse of the first tower. (this is the same building collapse as the 4:40 footage) notice how all of those key top floors are NOT falling straight down onto the lower floors...but are actually tilting over and falling AWAY from the lower floors. A simple lesson in inertia will let you know that those upper floors will only continue to move in that direction i.e. to the side or away - from the lower floors...yet EVERY SINGLE lower floor...all 60+ of them fully collapse all the way down...so what is bearing down from above when the collapse reaches floor 20 or 30 or 40 - certainly not those upper floors which were bailing to the side just seconds after the collapse began.

This isn't even the point I'm gonna hit yall with....but I thought I would give you that little nugget to chew on in the meantime.

I'll ignore the fact that your "simple lesson of inertia" assumes the upper block of floors is a single block, and mention that "what is bearing down from above when the collapse reaches floor 20 or 30 or 40" is most of the material from floors 60 to 40 (or 30 or 20). It didn't just teleport to the ground, you know.

The WTCs were brought down via a combination of the following:

1. Severing of many of the exterior and interior Steel Columns via the plane impacts.

2. Removal of a majority of the "spray on" fireproofing from the steel columns and other steel structures.

3. Fires initiated by Jet fuel, then superheated via other contents within the skyscapers including office furniture, carpets, office equipment...the list goes on. These fires covered 8-10 floors each.

The above factors worked in combination to weaken the floors and the steel columns. the floors sunk, causing inbowing of the remaining steel columns. These steel columns were already bearing more load than they were intended to and tested for. This eventually lead to the collapse of several floors near/within the impact zone. Once Collapse was initiated, the overwhelming dynamic load of the many floors above the impact zones, caused a quick and complete collapse of the entire buildings.
