Hello,

There are rumors floating about, so I will make this pre-announcement:

There are major changes coming to the challenge. The primary change is that the challenge will be pro-active rather than reactive.

What does this mean?

Stay tuned for the press release in the next week.

Oh man, this sounds interesting...

Hrmn, I'm having some entertaining ideas...

"We've secretly switched Montel's audience with JREF members, let's see if Sylvia notices..."

Grrrrr. I hate the word 'pro-active'. You're either active or reactive. What's the difference between 'pro-active' and 'active'?

I get the difference between procreative and creative though.

But anyway, I'm intrigued!

JREF is pro-active, thinking outside the box and will shift some paradigms.

Byaaaaaa!

Randi says a few things about the Challenge in the latest Skepticality podcast.

ETA - Hadn't seen Harry's post - but mine's better anyway since I include a link so there!

Let's hope Jeff isn't getting rightsized, but is being customer-focused going forward.

I hope this means that they are going to go after things like electronic dowsing rods, homeopathic remedies, etc., test them independently, and then issue press releases when (if) the device fails the test. With an offer to the manufacturer to participate in the design of the test prior to running the test (it would only be fair, and make them look worse when they decline).

Ah yes; perhaps he's finally cognizant of the fact that JREF clients require unique, tailored solutions for their paranormal needs. An incentivised performance culture should be implemented immediately.

It's about time skepticism got off the defensive. Attack! Go team! etc...

Alright!

I am now forming a posse to kidnap Sylvia and bring her for JREF where she will be forced to take the test.

Yeh proactive just means you are in favor of action not that you are going to act.
