Who could say what they would be doing if we hadn't liberated them from the evil clutches of the Taliban. Maybe we declared "Mission Accomplished" too early in Afghanistan too?

Whoda thunk I'd defend a Christian? ;)

"KABUL -- An Afghan man who allegedly converted from Islam to Christianity is being prosecuted in a Kabul court and could be sentenced to death, a judge said yesterday.

The defendant, Abdul Rahman, was arrested last month after his family went to the police and accused him of becoming a Christian, Judge Ansarullah Mawlavezada told The Associated Press in an interview.

Such a conversion would violate the country's Islamic laws."

Nice. Bush's Democratic juggernaut to the Islamic world pushes on.

Yep! First Afghanistan, then Palestine, then Iraq . . . Democracy is spreading through the middle east faster than you can say "divided factions." ;)

You guys are obviously terrorists. I know this because you criticize the government and refuse to see the success of Bush's policies of freedom in the Muslim world. Both of you also hate America and should be kicked out, maybe even executed.

I was listening to a radio news show which had this story and then a story about a university professor who had done a survey which showed many Australians were fearful of Islam. The Australians were mistaken apparently.

Your missing the big picture. Young Afgan girls can now READ about this guy being put to death. Theres progress for ya!

Geez, you'd think the guy drew some offensive cartoons or something.

Mephisto I read this thread and immediately prayed to the baby Jesus that the terrorists have not read this thread.

By posting this thread you have only emboldened our enemies. The Bush Administration clearly has a plan, and this is all part of it. I do not know what the plan is, but I'm sure that never forgetting 9/11 is part of it.

Yeah, and they can read about how they CAN'T go to school because the Taliban in outlying areas is still active and routinely assaults women attending school . . . that is, if they can get Newsweek delivered. :)

You forgot, "and we'll never forgive Saddam Hussein for what happened on 9/11!" :)

Get Even

I just found a way to get Bin Laden. Put out an APB on him saying that he just converted to Christianity.

RIP!

U.S. Will Watch Trial Of Afghan For Converting To Christianity
Tuesday, March 21, 2006

By Paul Tighe

March 21 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. is ``following closely'' the trial of an Afghan man who converted to Christianity and may face the death penalty under the country's Sharia law, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.

The Afghan authorities should ``conduct this trial and any proceedings that lead up to it in as transparent a manner as possible,'' McCormack said at a briefing yesterday in Washington, according to an e-mailed transcript. ``Freedom of worship is an important element of any democracy.''

...

All a country needs to be a democracy is rule by the people, usually through a representative system and voting.

Freedom of worship is not an inherent part of the process.

Well, to be fair, he is a Jehova's Witness.*

You mean Sean McCormack?

I'm sure someone here could Photoshop OBL kissing the Pope's feet while masturbatng on a cartoon of Mohammed. ;) Scatter those in "outlying areas" of Afghanistan where they don't have Photoshop and he could be in trouble. ;)

No, he's obviously a Haitian Voodoo Priest. That's how you climb the ladder in good ol' DC.
Who did you mean then, the guy who converted?

We had a JW here on JREF once trying to convert us and I don't think he lasted one whole thread.
