I was a tad disappointed that I hadn't received a reply, but I'm guessing he's gotten a lot of mails about the show. I will have a follow up to him based on the fact that it was my devout Orthodox friend Randall who notified me, the atheist skeptic of Dean's smackdown of Edward in the first place.

Since before TAM2, but especially since then, I have been making as much of a stink within the skeptical movement as I can about atheist skeptics embracing out religious fellow travellers as we should. Jody's mention of The Door (from Ole Anthony's Trinity Foundation) not only tells me he's exactly the sort of high profile religious skepticism needs to court, but that he's exemplary. I would dare say The Door - despite being a Christian magazine - would make more fundamentalists uncomfortable than your average non-believer.

If an audio file gets posted to KLUV's website, could any of you who have broadband post the transcript. I'm on dial-up.

I think that it is very important to get the transcript of this event and circulate it around and post it on this site and wherever you can.

People in the media need to see that you can create great "entertainment" by exposing these guys...that with a little homework you can show them to be shallow fools.

By all accounts, Mr. Dean bravely did what Larry King and tens of other media interviewers didn't do...his homework. By all accounts, he created wonderful entertainmnet in the process.

Empower the media! Get this transcript out and about.
 
I received a gracious reply from Mr. Dean, in which he mentioned how much all the support from people on this board has meant to him.

Get 'em. Edward and his ilk are a bunch of bottom feeding creeps. Anyone who profits on the grief of others is garbage. My goal is to get the law changed so these scumbags can be prosecuted for fraud.

I agree. I got a reply yesterday, very short and very nice. He says he is "humbled by the response" and it may have been overwhelming. I have a hard time replying if only 10 people email me in one day...... ;)

I got an extended response from Jody today and yes, his inbox floweth over. Apparently he's more concientious than I am as he seems to be replying to everyone. I told him about me being and atheist and Randall being a sub-Deacon at his Orthodox Church and that we're both big fans of Ole Anthony and the Trinity Foundation which publishes the "Wittenburg Door" that Jody alluded to above.

He mentioned that the Trinity Foundation has periodic breakfasts and basically invited me and Randall. I hope we can attend one soon and post a pic to this thread.

Jody also mentioned that when he was working for our local CBS affilitate he was basically ordered to shill for Edward, and he seemed to resent that. His radio show offered him a chance to fire up the 'Net, properly prep for Edward's B.S. and take him to task. As Randall pointed out in our phone conversation, the show before, he'd softballed an interview with Henry Winkler (who seems like a sweatheart) who was trying to promote "Out of Practice."

I'm still waiting for the transcript, and if Randall and I nosh some bisquits and grave with Jody and Ole, I'll try and post an article worthy interview. Thank you all who had never heard of Jody Dean or KLUV FM in Dallas for sending your e-mails of support. :)
 
Just sent my own thanks to Jody, he deserves it.
I can't wait to see a transcript. My sister was one of those conned when this moral less creature came to Australia.

PS I like the comparison to Ted Bundy - very fitting
