What’s interesting (and damning) about this is the Americans likely feel the UK can’t guarantee the safety of its aircraft and personnel at a MILITARY BASE.

So I wonder what the Americans think about the risk to the general British public?

The US has already given up on the British military - weak, underfunded, irrelevant- apart from the SAS whom the Americans revere.

Now, the US has withdrawn bombers from RAF Fairford because they don’t trust Brits to control the Islamist threat.

There has been no official statement of why the bombers left Fairford, or even exactly when they left. The timing of the announcement that they left has led people to speculate as to the reason, but it it is only speculation at this point. We don't even have confirmation that the withdrawl started after this incident.

The B1 bombers deployed to Fairford for the war. They weren't stationed there beforehand, one would not expect them to remain there indefinitely.
