The US has attacked an oil tanker in the Gulf, which it said was heading towards Iran's largest oil export terminal, as it reimposed a blockade of Iranian ports.

US Central Command (Centcom) said on Wednesday that Belma "ignored multiple warnings" as it was heading towards the Kharg Island oil terminal and an aircraft disabled the tanker by "firing Hellfire missiles into the ship's smokestack".

The U.S. airstrikes hit bridges overnight into Friday in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, killing at least seven people, Iranian state television reported. The attacks hit Bandar Khamir, a city on Iran's coast on the Strait of Hormuz.

Ah, but the thing is, before the utterly unprovoked attack by Trump, Iran did not impede traffic trough the strait.

Now that it is clear the US is unable to prevent them from doing so, they've been given a weapon they did not have.
I know Iran is the boogeyman, and their regime is horrific, but so are many regimes in the area. And as pointed out before, ever since the 40's, Iran has never directly attacked another country, even though it has been attacked many times. Often at the behest of or trough proxies of the US.
