General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

You're not "old-fashioned" you're a ◊◊◊◊.

Sorry, call me old fashioned but I believe it’s the parents’ job to give their child the best possible start to the school day.

At Gillas Lane Primary, the new free breakfast club is delivering calmer classrooms, higher standards and happier children.

Call me old fashioned but the trivial solution to disrupted classes and failing standards due to some kids not getting a proper breakfast is just to send your children away to a properly expensive school.

◊◊◊◊ the notion that calmer classrooms, higher standards and happier children might actually help my own children thrive. Just don't let them socialise with those dreadful poor kids.

Reform seeks legal challenge over new councils

The new Reform UK administration at the county council said it would seek legal action - as early as this week - against the government's plans to split Suffolk into three areas.

Michael Hadwen, who is expected to be appointed the authority's leader on Thursday, branded the planned changes to the councils as "madness".

The other things that lowered standards in schools was the closing of children's centres. Another tory win right there.

We are delighted to announce that @LeeAndersonMP_ has today become the new Chairman of Reform UK.

David Bull has overseen unprecedented growth in his time as Chairman and will still remain heavily involved in the party. 🇬🇧

The Labour party has no electoral mandate to override the biggest vote this country has ever seen when voting for Brexit. We must defend the overwhelming democratic vote of the British people and fight to make sure Brexit is not betrayed. The Labour party’s internal leadership psychodrama should not hide the fact that they plan to take the UK back in to the expensive clutches of the EU. In short Labour want to wreck Brexit.

Amazon have put this in my recommendations.

"Britain on the Brink"

If you could go back in time and change the course of British history, would you?
When Jack Campbell is mysteriously transported back in time to precious England as she once was, for a few glorious moments he's truly home. With his people. His kith and kin. When the phenomenon happens again, amidst his utter astonishment, Jack senses opportunity. Before long, he’s keeping company with historical figures like Enoch Powell and playing games with the space-time continuum.
Fiction for Dissidents

There's another

"All Hail Rhodesia"

"If you could go back to 1960s Rhodesia and describe the future to Prime Minister Ian Smith, could history be changed? Could Rhodesia be saved? Could the West be saved? Time travelers Jack & Ozzie get precisely this opportunity...and what an adventure it is!"

Is this the sort of country the likes of Yaxley-Lennon, the member for Innsmouth, Lowe and all their cultists are happy to play a part in creating? If so, they can ◊◊◊◊ right off. Actually they can ◊◊◊◊ right off anyway.
When I first looked at that story the top item in "From other local news sites" was a Sunderland Echo story headlined, "We'll be giving visitors a 'proper Mackem welcome'".

The youngest council leader in the UK has taken a step towards becoming head of a second council.

Reform UK's George Finch, 19, was already the leader of Warwickshire County Council. He has also been chosen as the leader of the Reform UK group in Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and took the council's Bede seat at last week's local elections.

Two councils for you to ◊◊◊◊ up, eh George?

Jobs for the boys...

Reform UK run Staffordshire county council have put in a bill for £350,000 for security for Reform UK councillors.

A Freedom of Information request revealed that Staffordshire County Council has spent more than £350,000 on security since being taken over by Reform UK in May 2025

Is this to prevent an invasion of Derbyshire oatcakes (which I have just discovered are A Thing and A Good Thing at that) trying to cause a Great Replacement of Staffordshire oatcakes?

Nothing says 'Popular voice of the common man' quite like spending hundreds of thousands of pounds to protect yourself from your constituents.

As a resident of North Staffs, I can confirm that there are currently no signs of Derbification in Cheadle, Leek, Stoke-on-Trent, Werrington, Kidsgrove or Forsbrook.

At last, a salary for Lee instead of handouts?

But never fear! Lee will FUBAR everything he achieved, no matter how small it actually was.
