In this case there is no indication that this was intent of the Israelis - their goal was to stop the regime funding groups that Israel considers pose existential threats and they used the stupidity of the current USA administration to provide the brute fire power and provide a smokescreen.

It is more than obvious that the USA had no goals and did not understand the consequences of their actions.

Their goals were 1) to deflect away from them killing muslims in countries near them and 2) to kill muslims in a country a bit further away.

It seems like a step much too far, even for him. A weapon of last resort, used because a country won't surrender but he won't risk invading? With that Pandora's box open , Russia would immediately threaten to nuke Ukraine. China would pick its first domino to lean on.

There was a case of rigged statistics shown on TV a bit ago that he just hasn't shut up about. 100% of MAGA supports Trump... with the note that anyone who both didn't support Trump and identified as MAGA were automatically excluded from the statistics, because they were effectively defining MAGA as supporters of Trump. The propagandists have run with that, too, by the look of it. It also happens to have replicable results! 100% of people who support Trump support Trump, no matter how many times you check!

Incidentally, that reminded me of how he touted HCQ for so long based off a small preliminary study that produced an impressive conclusion about how effective it was against COVID... by arbitrarily removing the people who had negative outcomes from consideration. Fox and then Trump pushed hard on that bit of disinformation without proper context as they focused on trying to control public perception to benefit Trump, while thoroughly ignoring how their actions racked up the body count. Bloody sociopathic traitors.

Every day is a new edition of "what stupid thing did he say today?" And I can't help but feel that any person of normal intelligence, even if they support Trump's policies, must be able to see that the man is a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ moron. I mean, c'mon- just the way he keeps bragging about "acing" those cognitive exams has got to be a giveaway that he's just not very bright- that's like boasting about how you aced your proctology exam.

As a general rule, they know that. They've known all along, provided that they're not some of the relatively few who are completely subject to the Republican alternate reality bubble. They simply have different values and concerns. Those values and concerns may invite disdain or condemnation if shared, but that doesn't makes such any less real, but rather just means that they'll tend to hide such behind more publicly acceptable facades.

I just saw a documentary about Three Mile Island, and one of the executives said it as "nucular". I find it inconceivable that a person in charge (same with the politicians) would say it that way.
