Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

Trump and his enablers really did expect the ordinary people of Iran to finish the regime change themselves as soon as he took out a couple of the ones at the top, didn't he?
Which might have worked, had the US supplied the anti-government groups with weapons and maybe targeted a few barracks of the Revolutionary Guard. But right now even Iranians in exile (at least here in the Netherlands) are angry at the US for the massive damage and civilian causalities caused. Not mention Trump insinuating all Iran needs to go back to the stone age, where it belongs.
Of course Israel would not want a peaceful transfer of power, as there is zero chance of any new Iranian government suddenly becoming friendly.

War finishes tomorrow

Trump: The entire country could be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night.

On the rescue

Trump: "A lighter, faster aircraft came in and we blew up the old planes. We blew them up to smithereens. Because we had equipment on the planes that frankly we'd like to take, but I don't think it was worthwhile. We have the best equipment anywhere in the world. We didn't want anybody examining our anti-aircraft and other equipment."

Trump: "They didn't know there was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information. Whoever it was, we think we'll be able to find out, because we're gonna go to the media company that released it and we're gonna say, 'National security. Give it up or go to jail.'"

Trump: "We have to find that leaker, because that's a sick person. It's national security. And the person that did the story will go to jail if he doesn't say."

Trump: "They came in so fast and so hard. 'Let's go -- bwaaaa!' They came one right after another. Not as the same time. They don't want to come at the same time. They had to come right after each other. There was barely any room to land. A tiny little patch of very wet earth."

God is good

Hegseth: One downed airmen evaded capture for more than a day, scaling, rugged ridges while hunted by the enemy. When he was finally able to activate his emergency transponder, his first message was simple: God is good

Shot down on Good Friday. Flown out of Iran as the sun was rising on Easter Sunday. A pilot reborn, all home and accounted for, a nation rejoicing. God is good

Hegseth: "Per the president's direction, today will be the largest volume of strikes since day one of this operation. Tomorrow -- even more than today. And then Iran has a choice. Choose wisely, because this president does not play around."

I totally hope that this is just his usual bluster, intimidation - they surely wouldn't use nukes against a non-existential threat?

Some of us are old enough to remember just how much the Iranian people dislike Americans.
And the thing is, speaking to my Iranian colleagues, they really hate the regime.

These are from my longest term friend at work, a few years ago.

He's gonna commit some more war crimes; the chicken- ◊◊◊◊◊ in his cabinet won't 25th him either, so they're complicit. What a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ disaster.

Trump: "NATO is a paper tiger. Putin is not afraid of NATO. Putin's afraid of us. Very afraid of us. And he's explained it to me a lot of times."

Trump: "We want Greenland. NATO doesn't want to give it us. And I said, 'Bye bye.' Okay, thank you very much everybody."

Tomorrow night

Q: Are there certain kinds of civilians targets like schools or hospitals that are off limits?

TRUMP: I don't want to tell you that. We have a plan where every bridge and power plant in Iran will be decimated by 12 o'clock tomorrow night

Trump: "The biggest problem we have in our negotiation is they can't communicate. I said to Steve, what are they saying? 'Sir, they can't communicate. They have no method of communication.' So we're communicating like they used to communicate 2,000 years ago with children bringing a note back and forth."
