Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

NATO needs to be redrawn. Maybe, we'll create a new alliance with Japan & Australia and some of those European nations that are willing to go into the fight, like the new, re-engaged Germany or Poland, as well as Ukraine"

— US Lieutenant General, Keith Kellogg thinks about transforming NATO amid the refusal of the member states to help with Iran

Until I saw the name of the quoted person I assumed it was someone outside the US talking about NATO's future without the US.

Hegseth fired two more generals

Not a clever thing to do

The United States is in the middle of a major war, but that didn’t stop Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Thursday from firing General Randy George, America’s most senior Army officer. George was the Army’s chief of staff, and he was cashiered along with another four-star general, David Hodne, and Major General William Green Jr., the top Army chaplain, in what has been a rolling purge by Hegseth of senior officers—particularly those close to the secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll.

But that's okay with the defenders of Iran, because Trump is the antichrist and the country that has been actively funding and directing international terrorist organizations for decades is the real victim.

When your love of posting insane gibberish is only matched by your love of seeing dead American soldiers and paying exorbitant gas prices.

For the world? Is he pretending he might do that as a favour for everyone else?

Until he started bombing, the straits were open for everyone. Now he's telling us how easy it would be to fix it, while not actually fixing it, and talking about "taking the oil". Which oil? Iran's oil? Does he propose to invade and steal all their stuff? Perhaps he just means re-opening the straits, in which case his idea of a "gusher for the world" is only to put right what he wrecked by starting a war there.

The US has considerable reserves, secured a sizable supply from Venezuela (while simultaneously denying that resource to China and Russia), and has rather sizable unmined deposits in Alaska and throughout the southwest. We're not dependent on ME oil. In the past it's been easily available and lets us retain our natural beauty.

Does Europe want to buy some US oil?

Yes, things are going great. That's why gas prices in the U.S. have remained low and everyone is so happy about it.

A purge of the politically unreliable from the officer class. Worked great for the Soviets in the '30s. Until they tried to fight Finland, with loyal incompetents in command.

Good news for the warmongers in this thread. They love seeing American soldiers killed and tortured.

Well, their cult leader doesn't like the pilots that are captured. According to their dear leader, they aren't heroes.
In conflicts gone by, Chuck Norris would rescue them. In a movie anyway.

Back in the real world I fear their best chance is hoping the Iranians decide to show the world how civilised they are, by not torturing and executing the people who have been bombing and killing them for a month.

He's probably really excited thinking about what new merch he can shill during the photo op with their coffins.
Trump coffins, maybe. Lots of golden ornamentation. Expensive wood somehow made to look cheap. He will push the idea through, approve the design, make a big song and dance of getting it done as his personal tribute to the fallen and only at the last moment will it become clear he is not going to pay for it.

a global energy crisis isn’t going to be good. and to me it doesn’t seem like there’s a path forward on securing the oil infrastructure in the middle east right now. trump can’t secure the straight, is telling europe and china to send their navies to secure their own oil, and killing every iranian they might want to talk to about it.

Thailand didn't provide any bases or support for the US.
Cuba or Venezuela didn't attack the US, but you have no problem with blockading them, sinking their ships and murdering their crews.

I might be able to take you seriously if you made any accusation against Iran that is worse than what you think is okay for the US to do.

Appealing to international norms after rejecting them is pathetic

They'll end up on Iranian TV, and later they'll be dressed out in those god-awful Iranian dress suits.
