Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

And thus, they are working on it. Not Trump style.
"European officials said Thursday's initial meeting focused on which countries were prepared to participate in the proposed coalition and the diplomatic and economic options available to persuade Iran to open the Strait."

Good luck with that.

"Although the meeting ended without any specific agreements, there was a consensus Iran should not be able to introduce transit fees on ships using the waterway and all nations should be able to use it freely, one of the officials said."

Well, they're smarter than the board members here who just want to pay off Iran. So that's a genuine positive.

"The next stage of talks will be when military planners meet next week to discuss options including potential mine-clearing work and providing a reassurance force for commercial shipping."

OK, so maybe they're actually going to get serious.

"France's Armed Forces spokesperson Guillaume Vernet told a news conference on Thursday that the process would be multi-phased and could not happen until hostilities had ended."

Never mind, they're not serious.

The NATO nations are already the target of asymmetric warfare responses by Iran or its proxies.
As well as targets of an attempt to seize their territory by Trump himself. Makes things a bit of a Hobson’s choice.

Besides, the UK, at least, IS providing bases and airspace for US aircraft - B52s and A10s are flying in and out. But that is not enough.

Instead they are also wanted for Operation Cannon Fodder in the Strait of Hormuz. They have been assured by Donald Trump that there is no reason to worry about it. The whole place is completely open anyway.

Surely you can see how this makes no sense. Either it is open, in which case they are not needed. Or closed in which case apparently not even the US navy can reliably keep it open. Only a fool would trust Donald Trump that they should send their own navy in to open up the strait to benefit the global economy.

You'd probably have a more content life if you grew some humor and didn't take everything Trump says so seriously.
What does this even mean? Don’t take him seriously? I thought the rallying cry was to take him seriously not literally! But now don’t take him literally or seriously!

So when he says to other countries to send their navies into the Strait of Hormuz because the waters lovely of course everyone should tell him not to be such a joker!

Donald wants Europe to do it because he daren't risk an American ship.
He has assured everyone they are the best and most wonderful and indestructible and Iran is defeated.
If Iran damages or sinks one on TV he knows he's finished.
If a European ship is hit he can just say it shows how much better his ships are.

You actually wrote this, didn't you . Bombing other countries and killing people is just a big joke to you.

Paying off the Iranians is just another cost of doing business, like importing stuff into the US and paying the new tariffs. Both costs due to Trump, of course. You might resent the indignity of paying but unless you have a cheaper idea it makes most sense to go along with it for now.

Nothing quite like wishing for an aggressor nation to kill civilians.
Somebody also keeps killing the people that Trump is supposed to be negotiating with.

Then it’s all a big joke, “lolz! They negotiated poorly! Lol!”

The Iranian regime is awful. But the Trump administration look like a bunch of gleeful psychopaths right now. Hegseth in particular.

There is no coherence to any of this. Does Trump want to negotiate the end of the conflict or does he want unconditional surrender? He has said he wants both, which makes no sense at all. And your advice is not to take him seriously.

This is insane behaviour.

So.... when the US kills the families of enemy leaders that is just simple collateral damage, clearly those civilians should not have been there.

But even the suggestion that US citizens could undergo the same fate due to a war the US started is deeply disturbing?
You didn't suggest they could. That was your desired outcome.
