He was pouring on his Irish charm by the bucketload, and playing the “I’m just a retired politician” gambit, which I don’t think will hold up to the slightest scrutiny.
Yes, Adams was instrumental in the peace agreement which has lasted, but he needs to account for his leadership role in the IRA when it was at its most brutal and merciless.
There might be a lot more publicity in the UK, but this story has been absent from the main news feeds in Australia.

We got junk mail through today from Reform Ltd addressed to us, to invite us to some rally with our Reform Ltd mayor.
Shame we don't have a cat to use it in a litter tray.
What is vaguely interesting is that our area of Hull would not be a Reform voting area, so they have likely posted to literally everyone in the catchment, including the East Riding, so they will likely have spent a fair bit of dosh....for what? For a basically Nuremberg Rally?
Its now occurred to me to check whether it has a free post envelope, in which case it might be worth attaching it to a brick and posting it back.
