Well, the fact he didn't let the statue go before getting paid in full indicates he may have a very good idea of what to expect: He expected to be swindled if he trusted Trump an inch.

It is of course completely beyond parody that the G20 leaders' summit will be hosted at a Trump-owned venue, and will greet its guests with a giant gold statue of the out-of-control egomaniac himself.

In the image it is shown significantly smaller than what you planned to build, which is essentially a zeppelin hanger made of cheap marble and cheap Styrofoam gold-painted gee-gaws. For example, the planned roof of the new ballroom is supposed to be much higher than the main building - not what's shown here. The new plan also doesn't have those columns on the end corners.

That bit about Massie having "been totally disloyal to the President of the United States" illustrates what the core problem with Trump is. He just does not, and apparently cannot, get the concept that nobody in the US government owes (much less swears) "loyalty" to the President, and to him personally in that capacity. He doesn't grasp the fundamental idea of a republic being what the name says it is, a state run for and in the name of the people, and seems to really think that being President is something like being a king who is the state (or, at best, like being a CEO who is the company).
