Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

You murder just one person ...

Trump: "We take out drug dealers, we take out a whole group of people by the thousands. And if we get one person a little bit wrong -- headlines. But they don't talk about all the tremen-- the reason we have Minnesota crime down is because we took out so many criminals."

A murder is a little bit wrong? ◊◊◊◊ him.

The FBI described the incident as "an alleged assault on a federal officer" and said "the subject was taken into custody."

At this point we're going to need some kind of ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ definition of what constitutes "assault" because it certainly isn't the definition I grew up with. I remember leftists because called sissy's and snowflakes and soy boys and what have you but sweet baby J. These guy are made of glass.

Exactly. That's how it's supposed to work. Real law enforcement agencies routinely capture and disarm violent criminals on a large scale with few if any civilian casualties. There is a constant focus and retraining on safety and adherence to rules written in blood. Not that I think American policing is anywhere as competent as in some of the more developed countries. But the Trump regime wants to believe that the atrocious ICE behavior is in some way normal or unavoidable.

But they don't talk about all the tremen-- the reason we have Minnesota crime down is because we took out so many criminals."
Asked and answered. Crime is up in Minneapolis simply by including the crimes perpetrated by ICE. Further, Minnesota Public Radio fact-checked the names and photos of alleged captured criminals and found that they were people arrested long ago, prior to the surge, and had been handed over by Minnesota authorities. The undocumented person that ICE was looking for when they killed Alex Pretti had only misdemeanor traffic offenses according to Minnesota public safety records.

Jeez, it isn't as if they're murde....oh, well, yeah, those, but otherwise, give-em a break!

It seems that the “never Trumpers” have dissolved into a few splinter groups of Righteous Republicans - largely pundits like The Lincoln Project, George Conway, Steve Schmidt, Bill Kristol, Nicolle Wallace, Michael Steele, etc. and some pro-union Republicans, Liz Cheney, who we haven’t heard from in a while, and Adam Kinzinger, who is a bit overexposed (IMHO), where are the old guard party line R’s at? Of course the current office holders are limp-dicked enablers but where are the Bushes, Romneys, the others that used to be adored by the FOX crowd? The old guard can’t be happy with this.

nytimes article covering some interviews with former and current ice agents

Mr. Hagelsieb’s comments reflect a growing sense of fear, frustration and disillusionment among some current and former immigration officials at the department, which is leading Mr. Trump’s push to arrest and deport millions of people. In interviews with The New York Times, more than 20 of them expressed anxieties that the administration was sending federal agents into situations in Minneapolis and other major cities that were increasingly dangerous both for them and civilians they encountered. They said that long hours, arrest quotas and public vitriol were taking a significant toll on morale.

“Morale is in the dumpster,” he said. “Many of the agents will be very happy to go back to the job they were trained for on the border.”
It is hard to know how widespread any sense of discontent is among ICE and Border Patrol agents on the ground in Minneapolis or other cities. Many have been seen arguing with protesters and appear to be supporting one another during confrontations. Paul Perez, the chief of the Border Patrol union, told The Times that morale remained “high” and that there were plenty of volunteers for Mr. Trump’s immigration operations.

Many also said that Mr. Trump’s mass-arrest campaign was proving counterproductive. In part, they said, that was because many federal agents were not thoroughly trained in dealing with hostile crowds, a growing concern as organized groups of protesters have sought to monitor homeland security activities, filming them on the street, following their agents’ cars and blowing whistles to disrupt their operations.

“We lost all trust,” one current ICE official said. “I’m not sure I can see how we exist three years from now.”

“Everyone is scared,” said El Michoacan, as he put a mango in his trunk. “Sometimes I’m scared, but I can only control what I can control. I have to live,” he said. “If they come for me, I will end up in Mexico, and everything I have will stay here. Nothing I can do.”
